But 100 blades and unload both suck in SPvP so allowing everyone to customize the way they want would help this, would it not?
Seems like you never played competitive tPvP. This won’t work.
TPvP is garbage. This works fine in real PvP (WvW).
The only arguments I can see are that it would make glass cannons like backstab thieves even stronger and bunkers like guardians or elementalists harder to kill.
But this is an issue with the class balance itself – not the stat customization.

I feel that WvW is garbage and a zerging is the most rewardig play type.
Tpvp is the real real 4 me, when i startet playing it where 4 WvW butt i found spvp way better in all ways.

Except we don’t suffer from these issues in WvW unless the player is truly terrible. In fact there’s a massive number of vids from certain classes going 1v3 (or more) in WvW with these ‘inflated’ stats on everyone and coming out victorious.
The only truly OP thing in WvW are thieves and only because culling makes their stealth broken. In SPvP there is no culling issue and it’s why thieves are balanced.
When everyone has access to fully customize their stats (well, as far as the system allows) then you also see a wider variety of builds that while not min-maxed actually hold their own.

I would definitely prefer being able to customize stats to the same level that you can in wvw. You really can’t fine tune builds because your stat choices are so limited. Part of why everyone seems stronger in wvw is just that their builds are actually min/maxed.
I don’t think the game is any more unbalanced because of higher stats. I’ve done tpvp, and wvw, and I never noticed a difference in balance outside of the separately balanced skills.

@Braxxus And your point is? I defended a camp 1v10 with a thief once, using only the shortbow – people dropped like flies from constant 6k+ Cluster Bombs. Or assaulted a tower solo late at night. Three people + 2 Veterans was a joke defense (Fun fact: I used worthless p/p build)
It’s really not hard to outperform PvE players (most of WvW population) when you have couple hundred hours of PvP experience. Even more so when many of those players are not level 80 – meaning undergeared, with less traits and avaliable skills.
Back on topic – I’m all for splitting stats across multiple items, as long as the total amount won’t increase. I’m also all in for more stats combinations.

The whole point about real pvp, ie spvp and tpvp, is that everyone is balanced stat wise, so it comes down to who’s the better player.

First off, how’s player vs circle working out for the community? Healthy? Thriving?

Anyways, secondly with the way the mists work (I refuse to call it pvp when the objective is not killing players, but standing in circles harder than the other guy stands in a circle) everyone would still be balanced stat wise.
There would just be more stats to choose from to customize your build.
Basically it’d be like if you hit 80 for wvw and were immediately mailed 1 of every exotic armor and weapon available, stat wise, to customize your guy with. There’s no gear discrepency when everyone has that same exotic gear to work with.

I do pvp and wvw and I’m not sure what you mean? Yes the ‘purpose’ of pvp is to hold points to win matches, just as the purpose of wvw is to accumulate points for your server by capturing keeps and camps. There are places to duel in both pvp and wvw. Just hit up a low population spvp server and it will usually be a dueling server, or find out where your world vs world area hold’s their duels. Personally I enjoy the dueling in pvp more because there is no culling, there are no food buffs, and characters start with everything they need to be on the same level as another. However dueling in wvw is equally important, and it’s really whatever you prefer though.

Let me just hit you up with an FYI.
When the point is only to kill opposing players, that’s what we call deathmatch, i.e. the lowest most mindless form of versus you can get.
With objectives, it becomes more team vs team. Is PvP sick? Kinda. Could it use some tweaks? Sure. Is the solution to its problems making it into a solo WvW? No.
If you want deathmatch, then stay away.
You’re calling wvsw the real pvp while you play it with pve skills, level differences, gear, rewards and so on?

Both spvp and wvwvw is “real pvp”, the only thing i’d call “fake pvp” is playing vs bots in shooter games.
PvP does not even need to involve the players killing each other to be pvp.
incase you newbies don’t understand what pvp means it means: Player VS Player
This can mean taking the bases from the other player(WHAT?!), Destroying the other players base, stealing his resources, convincing his friends to turn on him to make him lose everything.. etc etc
I actully consider playing marketplace a pvp mode! Maybe not as exiting though,….
