It does look like that many people enjoy the new Capricorn Map and its innovative mechanics, now thinking about it…why don’t we add something similar to Stronghold?

Bare with me, the changes will sound complex and honestly I doubt it’d be easy to implement the changes directly on the existent stronghold map..still we could try and see how it goes

1) We remove door breakers, door guards and archers but leave Lord and personal guards

2) Lord cannot be healed anymore directly from players, instead we now have a medic NPC, with low HP and very easy to down, no down state and in return this NPC can be supported by players

3) We now have a central cannon station that can be used to break in two shots, one door after the other

4) Add 3 capture points around the map, you need to keep 2 capture points under your team influence by the end of the counter of 20s, after which the cannon will fire at the enemy doors.
In total your team will repeat this process 4 times ( 2 times for door ), this because the capture points will become neutral after each shot and will need to be re-contested

Once the doors are down, your team can rush to kill the enemy lord and win the match. With these changes we would have:

-Normal conquest fights
-Forced split ( you can’t just focus all your team on one point , otherwise the enemy will just cap the other 2 points )
-We keep the lord kill mechanic

5) ADDITIONAL MECHANIC
This is where things get even more complicated.

We now need something that prevent full bunker/support team to easily hold the points, for these changes I will make “use” of the same mechanics seen in :

-At the start of the match a “rally” break bar with timer is added at the top of the screen next to the score, blue or red depending on the team

-As time starts, the breakbar begins to get smaller and smaller

-The match can be won by either killing the enemy lord or by depleting your breakbar before the enemy, which signify the arrival of “allies”

How players can deplete their breakbar before the enemy ?

-So we leave the supply mechanic, but ofc change its location, one supply depot close to each respawn point
-A player can run a box of supplies each worth 25 hit point/victory point
-The supplies can either be used to repair doors ( worth 100 hit points ) or run to the lord and have him speed up the depletion of your breakbar

Now what all this means in the grand scheme of things?

-A team comprised of thieves/mesmes and some other glass spec, may stand no chance against a full bunker/support team that will hog all points to quickly activate the cannon

-The thief/mesmer team can instead use their mobility/portal advantage to quickly repair doors and buy time while at the same time, speed up the depletion of their breakbar..winning the match in that way
