Q:

As some may know I main warrior , but i have played every class to know how to fight against them and know their weaknesses. In the recent July 26th patch, A lot of the classes such as Ele and Engineer Or mainly Scrapper , were just nerfed into the ground. I’m a little sad about this , I don’t know where Anet devs are going with this but I safely assume they nerf these classes to dirt to bring them back up in upcoming seasons and balance patches. To me though it seems like they nerfed the dmg and sustain but didnt give anything else out in return to at least still make the class fun and enjoyable to play. Why didn’t the Dev’s boost other area’s and traits for Scrapper/Reaper/Elementalist , instead of just nerfing everything? Nerf doesn’t = Balancing the game , especially if certain skills such as shock shield or initial thunderclap pulse wasn’t even all that strong to begin with. You couldve chose other mechanics for these skills , I’m sure. Now sustain nerfs were needed, bulwark gyro and rise shouts which gave 50% damage reduction were severely oppressive to power specs. I was hoping for Balancing in these elite specs.. not complete Nerfs. And power Elementalist would’ve been a cool come back to see. So my question to everyone is, Do you agree with the recent changes to Elementalist , Scrapper and Reaper in the july 26th patch?

Its true because the classes they needed to fix was ranger/revenant/mesmer and they didn’t do much to them.

Yeah, let’s nerf the ranger back into irrelevance away from this boring niche bunker role which is the only thing it’ll ever be good at.

Let’s also replace revenants and mesmers with thieves and warriors. That will make for a better game for sure!

I realized they will probably never achieve balance, so anytime I see a nerf incoming I prepare to change mains. I see no reason to use an inferior class when I can switch classes and automatically stay on top. I am not mentioning any specific classes here, but I think it should be obvious to most PvP players which classes are bottom 3 in terms of their ability to be on par. Having said that, I am not stating that being a good player doesn’t help…but still I would rather use a knife than a spoon as a weapon…

In the games i played those classes were still powerfull.
Eles seem to have very good damage with good surviability. Same with scrapers. Reapers with life force are still a pain to deal in team fights while nuking the points.
Give time to people adapt.

I am cool with the patch. Honestly, it was needed. It only affects certain builds, which people jump on the bandwagon to get easy wins. Jumping from class to class until it gets nerfed and repeat. There are other builds people can use but that would require skill.

Ah i like that thought too, I did say that about some people though. I was like why not just try a different traitline? Most builds were affected by these changes because they were like you said (sort of) easy to play builds and bandwagon builds. Until someone finds their own lil mix and how to work around changes. Sorta like how Berserker for me was in the “Dark” when Heart of Thorns first released. I could hardly kill any one, Dragon Hunters were dumb strong with 10k trueshots and 5-8k tests of faith . Nearly 1 shotting everyone with full traps, Revs still hit pretty hard with sword autos and Coalescence of ruin bug that hit like 5 times in 1 hit. I eventually learned to fight around such skills until they either were nerfed or fixed.

The classes are still pretty fun to play

The reduction in sustain and damage is how they reduce powercreep. Aka, they require more skill than before. If you play pre-HoT and June 23rd you got used to it

If you can’t beat it, it is, needless to say, OP
