I play PvP because I think it’s neat. I couldn’t even tell you what the rewards were for last season except that I got a set of armor out of it for a character I don’t play.

I play PvP because I think it’s neat. I couldn’t even tell you what the rewards were for last season except that I got a set of armor out of it for a character I don’t play.

You dont matter, the player count spike does.

Apparently, Arena Net thinks the player count spike doesn’t matter.

Pretty sure the changes were made to keep players playing more games in the season rather than getting all the rewards in less than a week and leaving. Also, the change to require some crafting to be done was much needed. It was ridiculous how easy it was to get ascended gear in pvp.

Pretty sure the changes were made to keep players playing more games in the season rather than getting all the rewards in less than a week and leaving. Also, the change to require some crafting to be done was much needed. It was ridiculous how easy it was to get ascended gear in pvp.

It went from ridiculously easy to ridiculously tedious.

You need over 400 wins to get all of the ascended shards. You would need to play for multiple seasons to get the tokens.

Or you can just do fractal dailies and get it significantly faster.

You mean they found a way to stretch out the process over multiple seasons huh? You realize for them this is a good thing right, make the treadmill to obtain rewards longer?

As for it being easier to get them in fractals, so what? The main goal of PvP isn’t PvE ascended gear. The ascended gear is just an added bonus. It allows people to play PvP and still work towards ascended gear on the side, which is useful if you play PvE or WvW. So say you are a PvE player, you can go have fun in PvP during the season without putting a halt on working towards your ascended gear.

And some may say that now PvE players won’t be interested in coming to PvP and now population will drop…again, so what. PvE players that play PvP just to get the ascended gear most likely aren’t that great at PvP anyways. This means those players will likely be in bronze, which has no effect on players in other divisions. I could care less if the population in bronze division drops, and from the sound of it, bronze players would be happy to see less PvE players. Win win there.

You see, PvP doesn’t need to be the fastest or most reliable way to get ascended gear, nor should it be. Ascended gear should not be the focus of PvP, it’s just a bonus prize.

Better yet, what about killing players on a fully customized to your own tastes character?

That’s why I play.

(Cuz it sure as hell isn’t conquest, the redundant rewards, or kittenty mostly blue wings I refuse to spend my gift of fortune on.)

Meh, it’s okay. If this leads to higher queue time and not enough bronze tier fodder, all of these changes will be quickly reverted, a new type of token added and instead of raging about queue taking 15 minutes people will revert to raging about all the pve noobs only here for rewards. No choice, really

No one will play PvP for the rewards, which is fine due mostly do because they find the game mode fun. But the rewards no longer matter.

To some extent is good because PvErs which were afk and entering just for the shard progression will now leave and stop disrupting gameplay, but reward wise the only interest in PvP is how fast and easy is to get clovers (if legendaries ia think for you).

Honestly even with the Ascended nerf it still gives a decent amount of flat gold.
