I must say the current season is the worst season so far. Instead of long loss and win streak it is like W W L L W L W L W L WW L L etc. You never get any streaks because it is always 50/50 win rate.
It also doesnt make sense that L L L W W W is worth more than W L W L W L. Completly arbritary.
It seems other people have the same problem, because I keep meeting other people who were legendary in s1 and/or s2 and now stuck in W/L cycle in saphire, too. Several people from friendlist also have the same problem.
If you make us 50/50 win rate again like in season 1 at least give us the -3 to +3 pip system back, because this is utter garbage.

The algorithm is better it’s just that a lot people have stopped playing because they got their wings or they’re sick of ranked so they’re queuing unranked. But the thing is if the people I’m ducking are in unranked (I even had an Illustrious Legend on the other team…and he was an engi) while the new players get put on my team (I have a big plus score in unranked) then it’s even worse.

There are still plenty of people in queue to be honest (EU at least). I get different players on both teams 80%+ of the time. So player varity does not seem to be the problem yet.

Just bcoz you can’t progress, doesn’t mean it’s worse. If it’s hard than it’s working as intended. Do you want anyone to become legends?

I agree. I loved season 1, liked season 2 less, and hate season 3.

But I completely agree with this.

Everyone who has the patience to grind out enough matches will eventually reach legendary as long as they have at least 51% winrate. In special cases like LLLWWW you can even do it with less than 40% I think.

Thx for the math. Here. 7 matches 1 pip. If they can grind it, Just let them with it.

If they can play that mind-blowing number of games, they probably have become good when they reach high tiers.

Only issue i have is that theres no soloq. Got to ruby after 3 days season 3 started yet, never got any rubys in my team but instead got throwed into premades of ambers/emeralds. Thats not how a good matchmaking system works when you enter as soloq. Ive been waiting and not played ranked now for about a week so that people catch up so i wont get these sucky premades. Ranked is broken, just bring back old ranked and soloq already and we call it a day.

I agree this is by far worst pvp season but still….

The problem is that you still get same “pro’s” as you had for several games and you gonna lose cuz of them.

And if you don’t want to lose get a team or learn this game so good to be the match maker.

Complaining is easy but no progress on your skill is a bad attitude.

I got also many 6-7 win streaks and ruined by DH or P/P Thiefs or other bad teammates but that’s the YoloQ get rid it about that:D

And BTW: My second account got a 14 win streak from div 1-3 (atm div 3 pip 6) and I played only War no HOT so it’s not only the fault of your team

It would be 91 games in total to hit ruby from 0 pips in amber with this win/loss pattern. 21 for amber(5 pips every 7 games) and 35 games for each emerald and sapphire. Every winstreak would secure a tier in emerald/sapphire.

The losses do nothing except provide the bonus pip for a streak which isn’t even needed until sapphire. The 42.9% is just the lowest it would possibly take to progress thru ruby and beyond and is actually harder if you perform closer to 50% unless you can secure streaks.

Edit: In fact you don’t even have to follow that pattern so closely to get through emerald you can do worse and still get thru with just LLLWW would secure tiers just as well and only be 25 games to hit sapphire.

alt+f4 for 3 pips and unistall for 5 pips.

I like this season. Win enough and hit a good team, but not so good that they blow you out. Learn from the lose and repeat. Only need at 40% win rate to make it to Ruby.

Started in sapphire, still there, only reached tier 3. jumping up and down pip by pip.

Its not fun. Win streaks aren’t a measure of skill unless you are a full team, for a solo player you are at the mercy of matchmaking and your MMR.

You can win just as many matches as another player and make 0 progress, purely because your team changes match to match with varying levels of skill, composition and class knowledge.

People say you should carry your team, but with so many variables in a match that is just unrealistic, and if you can carry your team must at least have been competent not to ruin your rotations.

yeah i agree that this season sucks more than the last 2. so many afk now just for daily participation which ruins a whole teams pip count. either furthering a lose streak of destroying a win streak. also the fact that they put the 5 highest mmr on a team against the 5 lowest isnt balance at all.

The best games I’ve had this season were with 3 thieves in the team with myself as the 3rd. It’s not the class, it’s the players.

Only 1 of the 3 thieves was good and the good one relogged to different class as I said. So we essentially had 2 useless thieves
