because of the style of MM anet implemented it started a witch hunt by other players whos the newbie or low MMR in the group. i had various matches with people accusing of others bad before the game even start. this made players QQ and rage during matches. also the reason Anet revert back to this MM is because of complain about blowout matches well guess what most of my games are like that still. so Anet if your reading these just wanna say how in the F did you ended with these decisions?

Because last season favored players with high mmr (which are minority).
Current system favors players with low MMR (which are majority) since they are not doomed to endless loss streak and get carried by better players.

Who would pick, majority or minority?

Competitive systems by their very nature mean the majority “loses out”. But that’s why u have unranked. What’s the point of ranked if any pleb can achieve the same thing by spamming games or getting carried by a group while matched vs randoms?

Because it is Casual Wars 2. The only remotely competitive thing in this game is pro leagues.

Don’t get me wrong, i am not defending current system – i found it stupid since i started to play this game (which was years ago) but it would be delusional to expect devs to create actual skill based leagues w/o some kind of “help”, so your average Joe can also succeed and collect his wings.

I have to agree but I still think S3 had the best MM. Idk why they scrapped it though.. then again I stopped playing after the 2 weeks because of an internship.

Honestly, I’ve found that the most toxic and vocal players aren’t half as good as they think. I suspect they may get used to being carried by better players and throw tantrums in chat when that isnt the case. I’ve had a few matches where some teammate is screaming in team chat about how bad a player or the team is. Then when he see them play, they’re subpar in tactics and play.

Newsflash : before we had the s1-4 we had a ladder MMR like other every games .
Because we didnt have a decay ppl where sitting at the 2-7 spot on top of the laderboard with only 20 wins .

Even at the end they implanted the decay … it shows up a simply mistake with these systems …..
Either the decay will be soft (play 1 game at night every 3 days) and maintian your top spot
or
Hard decay where you are forced to play 3 per day
(which once more it willcause burnout ….to login every day …. and maintain the spot)

In both bases , PPL THAT """""PLAY MORE AND WIN MORE"""""" , WILL OUTTHROWN YOU FROM THE SPOT

MORES GAMES LIKE MIGHT , MAKES YOU RIGHT !

(and should be ,otherwise we will get in a point like WoW TBC till Cataclysm , where top ppl had 40 games played , while the others had 200+)

No system is bulletproof and cannot be used as a accuratly messure the solo heroes :P

leaderboards can have a minimum number of games before you can be considered (eg 50 or 100). Can have a decent decay where you need to play 14 games in a 7 day period. (eg 2 per day, or all 14 in one day). That will prevent burnout since you can just play a couple days a week and easily get 14 games.

This problem with toxic players is frequent since 1st season and exist in every game. The real problem is when Anet doesn´t punish even when dozen of players report them.
As someone stated, toxic players are never good players. They just think they are and blame the others for a loss.

Every season was toxic. First season was Oh my gosh everyboyd gets carried.

Then second season was kittenn MMR hell.

Third season was MMR limbo focused on win-lose win-lose etc

4th season was going back to square 1

The binary win or lose nature of pips makes things far more toxic than needed. Enjoying a close game is hard if it costs you the pip and winstreak you needed to climb that tier/division. Pips + 50/50 MMR = ridiculously frustrating experience unless you have time to play 100s of games a day or you’re good enough to 1v9.

I like seeing longbow sword/axe full signet condi warriors running arms , full mantra chrono dps and the infamous full signet longbow rangers on my team facing enemy DHs and condi macebow

and I love well necros and fresh air eles on my team who cant kill for kitten and get ganked every single time by thief and DHs and druids.

oh and plz for the love of all that is holy, if you want a pvp mode for casuals please replace press f to stomp/revive to press F for gold/loot.

whenvever I queue I try not to solo queue anymore in Ruby and friends would rather not play pvp in this game

I dont need to win, I just want a fun match, Anet… and your MM was never good enough but this one is just the worst yet

I am just giving a warning about what happened in the past and it wil repeat iteself , but as long as solo playe….general , the populations is happy then is good for the game + they ’’might’’ renew the 100k prize .

a) Pro players will whine that are forced to play vs other pros and climb harder the aldder , while the noobsVSnoobs would be a cakewalk

b) Noob players will try to loose on purpose and lower their MMR for easier wins :
1) either they will stuck in MMRhell with team8s that drags thems
or
2) get 15 winsream and face ELS players and generaly geting placed on those pros devisions MMR . And later whine at the company ABOUT WHY THEY DIDNT RESET EVERY1 MMR …

c)PPl dont listen the advices of the others and dont change class or spells

d) On the old MMR eaderboard it shown only 1000 ppl .
The rest , had to login in that page and there would be a ’’percent’’% number next to their name .
I for example would get ‘’Killthehealersffs.8940 … 94%’’
(at 100% i wouldbe shown at the Leaderboard as the 1000th player) .
But when i went to sleep and login in the next day , for some reason i was 87% .
As the rest of population wins and play more , you get outcasted .
If the decayed kicked in , i would loose more .
I could play these back and forth ’’swings’’ for 2 months , but i have other issues (drinking) :P
(or could get to 98% , if the rest of the populations lost – mnost common thing in the top spots too …without playing for 2 days , some1 went from 13 to 4th place (dont remember the name sorry..):P)

But in the top spots 1-200 theres is not such a swing or drastic competition .
The 400-600 spots as used a a ’’gate’’ that minimize these ’’swings’’
So the top spots , their only concern it was the deacay …. which if it too hard the decay it will effect the rest of the polulation , while if it only 14 per week , they they can maintain their position by playig late at night (wintrading-its a common thing)

But yeah , i dont have a problem with the rewards either …. like Raids there could be only for top elites and to be used as an ’’endgame’’ while they releases content every 3 months .
(Dont dont that in WvWvW althought …
create a basic skins that can be updraged slowllyyyyy (timegated) after the Tournament have ended)

Or they could use the MMR leaderboards x2 times in the raw , to ‘’shove it to the community’’ to either start loving it or hate it :P
