Agreed. Personally, my time would be much better spent raising gold to buy whatever mini/epic gear I want.

How about this:

1 – 3: Pre-cursor of choice, Nr. 1 gets guaranteed access to HoT Beta.
4 -10: 1600 gems, 20 laurels & 2 pieces of glorious no one cares about set.
11 – 50: 800 gems, 5 laurels & 1 piece of glorious no one cares about set.
51 – 100: 400 gems & Mini Llama
101 – 200: Mini Llama

It’s good to hear the leaderboard might have changed.

It’s also bad to hear that you continue to give out the most lazy prizing for the leaderboards ever. Seriously, most of us already have a llama, if not multiple llama minipets. Make a new minipet or a new set of armor or something different please.

WTT Mini llama (x3) for automated tournaments or better prizes.

What are you guys whining about, 8 weeks for a Mini you could have easily gotten on twitter or twitch by being lucky is a great reward.

I think 8 weeks is way too long for a season ladder but well…. IMO you should increase the rewards since players are required to stay in the ranking for even more time than previous seasons.

BTW, what happened to the dishonor system you announced for the previous season? Are you going to enable it someday? I’m tired of AFK trolls not being penalized on ranked…

I was just about to make a post on how the match making system isn’t working very well at the moment. Good to see you guys changing it up. Also I want a llama.

Finally some good news. Can you explain a little more in detail how you change leaderboard ranking? While the old system stunk hopefully this doesn’t go too far in the other direction where you have to be in a group and win 65% plus of your games to get a decent leaderboard rank. The best solo queue only players would probably struggle to win more then about 55% of the time or so. Otherwise you need to bring back solo queue. Also, the rewards still stink. If you are going to leave them this cruddy how about glorious Hero armor for the top 100 and 2 pieces for the top 20.

The progression system on mini pet is interesting like reward, but i agree with the general conensus, there are too few rewards linked to final positions, we need more.

And we need more details about how leaderboard will work, it’s not really clear.

The Glorious armor reward is “Glorious Hero’s” armor (I think that is what it is called). It looks MUCH better and different than your run of the mill reward track. Also, ability to combine mini Llamas? If you have to combine more than 2 most people are probably screwed. I don’t know anyone who has been collecting all the extra mini Llamas they got. I guess there may be some out there that decided to save their multitude of mini Llamas; I know I didn’t lol.

I remember I suggested this Mini-pet evolution system like reward in an old spvp topic, and i’m happy Anet likes and introduces this system (we have other examples in progression for items in pve like Fractal backpiece and Mawdrey, and are both very good examples in item progression). It motivates to partecipate in more spvp seasons and compete to be placed in a top500 leaderboard everytime.

In general i’d like to see more rewards for spvp seasons but it’s a little improvement from the other Season test.

Uh. You didn’t spend the past five months fighting a grueling battle on the ladder considering the first implementation of the ladder was in December. Before that the old LB had no seasons.

Rewards were meant for seasons, you topped out at #1 offseason by spamming more games than others. That’s your own fault, not Anet’s.

I hope they have reveal the methodology for the leaderboard. If it is based on wins it should be possible to balance it for solo queueing and full premades, etc.

What are you talking about? There was a season from April through December 2014 (this is after February). Then there was a season December through January. And now there is one March through May. Where do you get “the season over the past 5 months”. The LB’s have been reset 3 times (counting tomorrow) in the past 4 months for new seasons. You have an imaginary season in your head that never existed. The time between January 16th and now was not a season. It was off season for them to make changes, adjustments and fixes.

Confused on where you get February or the “season over the past 5 months”. All the recent seasons I listed, gave out rewards.

You know something is wrong with the rewards of the game if login rewards are better gold per hour than playing the game.

Actually, that is fairly common in games with log in reward. The point of the log in rewards is tempt you to log in to get the reward which hopefully will get you to stay and play longer.

In any case it still says more about you than the game.

The introduction of the new ranking system looks extremely vague for something that’s going to start tomorrow.

You’re absolutely Right it wasn’t healthy for us. I’m still recovering from it, i’ve only now stopped dreaming in pvp. Please all I’m asking for is to give the same rewards to the current people on the ladder so we have something to show for all the work we did.

Please understand with the amount of games we’ve been playing pretty much every waking moment aside from eating, sleeping, etc was spend chasing the ladder under the current system. So Obviously we spent more time playing the game than reading the forums.

Actually not, old school MMOs do not reward you for simply logging in, its something quite new. And rewards are a big part of MMOs, so its failed design if simply logging in is rewarded with more than a mystic coin. At my loading speed, logging in rewards me with approximately 4.3g per minute. Good luck earning even close to that much by playing. I would say its impossible unless you are a trading post mogul with at least 20k gold on your hand.

Stop saying WE. Everyone, except apparently a couple people knew there was no season going on. There is a leaderboard because they are testing it and making changes in the off season. This information was available to all. Can’t test changes if one isn’t running. I also highly doubt you would have played less if you knew it was off season. Glorious Hero’s armor is motivating YOU. 95% of people that PvP do it because we love it and it is fun. If the only reason you are playing the game is for a chance at ONE in game cosmetic skin, I think your priorities are off. Most people play to have fun and could care less about it. Just saying.

I had a blast and I learned a lot about pvp… I got 3 titles the previous offseasn and only 2 and half this round

Well yeah my priorities are off, cause I was lead to believe I was working towards a goal that isn’t there. I mean I did buy into that whole Glorius Hero;’s armor craze that was advertise, I just want my reward so i could move on.

I would have Definitey Played WAY less Spvp if I know this was the off season I have an Eternity ( the legendary) to make. and my WvW is almost to my next Icon-badge level

Ummm. Did you not read the title of the thread? “Second Ladder Test Season”. This is the second “Season”. Just because they were testing, doesn’t mean it is a “Season”. They were constantly making changes to MMR, how the system finds matchups, how the LB’s would work in various solutions etc etc. For that they needed recorded data from players, hence why you see that data on the current LB’s. They can take, say player number 10 and punch in test algorithms and see how it moves him down or up on the LB’s as they currently sit, etc.

Yeah so everything we’ve done so far is a test aswell just like what they are doing. It not too much to ask for some compensation. And like I’ve said been too busy playing the game to know when they start or stop a season that counts for rewards. I just won 4 matches in the row between when I started posting about this. I too Pvp to get better that’s why I’m open to advice when after i boardcast myself on youtube. and I play all Professions. I mainly solo or duo que so I’ve fought with and against members of Abjured losing agasint and winning with obviously but regardless i also fight to my best even about the MAny 4v5 i’ve had to deal with.

But in the back of my mind I have this itch to have some recognition too whether it be a skin or something.

The rewards are as bad as the in game rewards for anything else. Still i`ll play because pvp is fun, im used to not getting properly rewarded in this game after all the time i spend doing something….

You’re right it is fun ( i really actually like conquest), but This is Not every Other game GW2 is suppose to be better than the rest. I really don’t want this bad after feel that I’ve wasted so many hours for a phantom promise.
