Seeking advice vs Mesmer
Seriously, what the heck do I do when I get Moa? The only thing I can do is smash the 5 button.
Am I suppose to be a semi free kill when I get Moa?
Yes
Actually, I tend to go on the offense when I’m moa’d, often saving my dodges for it. Most Mesmers will expect you to run, use Moa as an opportunity to take out their clones, and to dodge. Try practicing in Moa form, have a friend use Moa on you and duel them while in it.
I have managed to actually kill a few Mesmers while Moa’d.
Typically a dodge, dodge, #5 series will last the majority of the Moa transformation cycle if you put a small lag in between each one. I also try to dodge through the Mesmer and get behind him, makes is a little harder on them to target you typically over running away from them.
If I get hit with Moa I go on the offensive, remember, if it’s not black and white, scratch peck and bite! And screech, That thing kittening hurts.

I do what Altroll does.
If you dont have a friend to practice go at the NPC in the mists. Its not much of a challenge but at least you can get familiar with the skills.
Pay attention to what the mesmer does, dodge at the right times and use #5 as an extra dodge.
For example, if they try a shatter and BF combo, use #5 and evade it all of it, or almost all of it.
I typically try to break their line of sight the best I can. But if you are bunkering a point going offensive is probably the best bet and not using the 5 skill right away, save it for when you really need it.
I actually seem to get moad a lot… not sure why, I play a warrior, seems like I should be a low priority moa target.
Kind of depends on when I get moad. I have killed a lot of mesmers in moa form but it was generally because they were already hurting. If it happens at the start of the fight then generally I’ll just evade away, and enjoy killing an eliteless mesmer. In a teamfight I generally try to gtfo, as focus fire is not fun while chickened.
In short I’d say make a decision on the spot as to run or fight and stick to it. Indecision will kill you more often with getting moad than anything else.

the titel should be “advise vs moa”, not mesmer.
when you get moa’ed, simply yell through your mic: “guise, halp i haz been birded!”
they should come running to your rescue, if not, then simply yell: “guise, halp im down!!”
you can thank me later.
sadly i dont have a mic, so imcompletely in my team’s mercy :’(.
cheers,

Dodge/block/evade moa…pretty long cast and obvious animation, not a big deal…tw still better imo.

1 sec cast time is long?

Sure it is..if you’re used to evade thieves and shatters (As everyone should be after some pvp) moa would be an easy cake to negate..you can try it and you’ll see by yourself how hard is to moa an high ranked opponent..and that’s why, as i said, tw is better..
Moa can be quite hard to see in team fights, especially if its the mesmer’s opener after fading out or enetering the fight…
Or they can ofcourse use it while stealthed or while standing behind you.
I agree, the animation is very obvious and easy to dodge, but if the mesmer lete you see him/her use it, then its just unskillfull use.
