I get 21 kills, die twice. I capture more bases than anyone on either team. I revive 12 teammates. I do the most damage and get the most kills on my team. But we lose the game…. and I lose skill rating.

This is where I draw the line. I SHOULD NOT lose personal skill rating because of a team loss. Nobody should. That’s just unfair and illogical. Even if someone loses the game, but does exceptionally well, their skill rating should go up, not down. I’ve literally been stuck in silver 2 for the past 20-something games because our team lost, but I did really well.

Here is a very simple suggestion: Make personal skill rating personal. A team effort shouldn’t be reflected in a personal skill rating. Seriously… it’s the same thing season after season… Utilizing my suggestion would increase the quality of PvP sessions because the matchmaking would become even more accurate if personal score was the deciding factor.

Please, at least consider implementing this. I, as well as many others, have stopped playing sPvP entirely because it’s not fun to be handed a “loser trophy” when you know you just kicked everyone’s trash.

You should never increase skill from a loss….. maybe they should make PvP a team only gamemode ( as it and the Matchmaking are designed to be) that would solve a lot of the problems people have with having potatoes on their team…

LOL if someone does exceptionnaly well . he dosent lose. Because doing exceptionally well means winning 1v2s and 1v3s and carrying the game with ease. All I see is that u were running around capturing empty nodes and getting few kills here and there.

if you are Stuck in silver for 20 games means that’s where you belong. I started in silver and won 1v2s on my thief and 1v3s on my DH.

Yeah… except that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Quake Live has the most even matchmaking system I’ve ever seen, and they have the system that I described. If you lose, but do well, your elo still increases. I was matched up with Fatal1ty (a pro gamer) and it was incredibly even.

Yet, when I go to games where, if your team loses, you lose, complaints run rampant that the system is unfair. Rising in rank shouldn’t equate to being able to 1vs2 or 1vs3… You should just be better than a certain percentage of the sPvP population and THAT should determine your skill rating.

Posting here since I was there while he was raging about this in the pvp lobby.

I play a build that you cant argue to be op, core guardian. I started silver t1 and was able to take on 1v2/1v3 scenarios from a core class albeit I have 4 years exp on the core guardian. I blazed through silver and I’m 1-2 games away from platinum now, soloq the whole way with ~70% win rate. Being stuck 20 matches at silver is where you need to be. I could take my dh line and get more kills easy but kills do not win the match. Helping the team does.
