Seriously now enough is enough
Welcome in pvp, where glorypoints are everything, but tactic, teamwork and intelligent gameplay means nothing, as long as they can run in their little zergs and think they are great.

This is so true it hurts
I’ve had the worst luck as well. There was a fight earlier where two of my teammates saw me run from mid (because all three of us were there capping, so I started running to home) and so they ran… but didn’t finish capping mid. Another fight, a thief tried to res me without putting stealth up as a warrior was about to stomp me, then proceeded to lose to him 1v1 after I already weakened him. And another, where 4 of the enemy team were on our Lord, but somehow they had two out of three points capped, while one of my teammates was trying to solo their Lord and dying (of course ending with them closing the 150 point gap we got and then winning.) That’s just one of the countless times I’ve been the only one running to points or not running into a group of enemies by myself and instantly dying.
It’s like I’m stuck in some kind of Groundhog Day-esque universe where I constantly get the two awful mesmers intent on dying in 1v1s, the thief who for some reason is hanging around spawn instead of actually contributing, and the ranger who just can’t god kitten stay alive in group fights. And they all refuse to kittening fight in the point.
Have I wronged you in some way, soloq matchmaking god? Your teamq brother seems to like me. Why do you insist on grouping me with complete idiots?
I totally feel your pain Ceol! Here is an example of the stupidity that is running rampant in pvp atm. I was placed into Skyhammer, this is all great and lovely, so im like lets do this. My first reaction is to head to the skyhammer gun station to get control of the gun, as well all know the gun is super overpowered. I asked a theif to assist me in the protection of the room, he was like ok no problem. Now at this time I am on the gun and i can’t see my surroundings because duh im on the gun lol. I get off the gun to swap out with the thief so he can get a turn and i would protect him. I get off the gun and no one is in the room with me(im wide open). I figure ok all good, thus I head out to the battlefield. I get outside the gun room and what do i see my entire team fighting one mesmer on point B. Yes my entire team, no one defending points, no one capturing points, etc. It was very sad thing as we basically lost a minute or so later. I mean come on the entire team for one lone mesmer. I mean it was a great play by the blue team as they used the mesmer as bait to lure the entire team away from the other two points and the skyhammer gun. Anyways this is what im talkin about people think this is World of Warcraft were kill farming wins the game. Its just sickening, maybe this weekend I will run into some players who actually have a level of intelligence to demonstrate.
Oh my god I hate that. Same thing happened on Skyhammer with me as well, although we ended up winning. There was a necro guarding me on cannon, and the rest of my team was on B while A and C were sitting unguarded and capped by the enemy team. I had to beg multiple times for someone to go and cap at least one of them, and in the end, it was the necro who was guarding me who did it! Like, what the hell? I’ve got this awesome view of the battlefield and am telling you all that A and C are open to cap, just one of you sneak off and grab one of them while me on cannon and the others hold B, but nope! Let’s just stalemate on B.
I really do blame ArenaNet for making track progression capped after two tiers in hotjoins. It takes away the carrot — the only reason most of them are there (including me at first.) They could be getting practice in matches that don’t matter too much and then jumping into soloq when they feel confident enough, but instead, they hit the cap and get told in map chat that soloq is the place you go, so they’re just using it as a place to farm track progression instead of actually trying.
Blame the tutorials, I would say.
And Zerging, dominating every other aspect of the game

Bad matchmaking or a lot of bad luck.
Once you have played yourself to the top, you’ll no longer have this problems.
Really hope we’ll get the new ladder system soon.
