Shards of Glory
I agree. There needs to be a shard of glory sink. They were designed so that people crafting legendary weapons would need to PvP. But for some reasons, a-net made them tradable and very very cheap because of very few sinks. So you do not need to PvP whatsoever.
Maybe transform 100 shards of glory into one tome of knowledge!
I think the main problem with shards of glory is that everything you need shards of glory for, apart from the Vial of Salt, you also need the WvW equivalent for…
…Problem is, the WvW equivalent is much less abundant, so it becomes the limiting factor while shards of glory are effectively worthless (people who don’t PvP may pick them up, but supply still greatly exceeds a demand which is limited by the abundance – or lack therof – of Memories of Battle). Personally, I think a more elegant solution would be to make Memories of Battle more abundant. Currently, you get Shards of Glory from dailies as well as through reward tracks – if Memories of Battle also came from WvW dailies so players could get a handful each day rather than relying purely on the track, this might bring their relative abundances more into line so that both are valuable, rather than Shards of Glory just being ancillary to Memories of Battle.

But then what will i use Tomes of Knowledge for?? I have a lvl 80 for all 9 classes and like 500 Tomes to spare…

Make a new character, level it up to 60, solve the personal story, get 3 black lion chest keys, repeat each weak and delte that character afterwards…
Shards are broken… 33 copper each. If they added anything useful that we can buy with them, it would affect the current economy. They should’ve made them account-bound at first….
Or make them account bound and introduce a npc that trades them for karma, that way pvp players get a nice acces to karma
