Right now it seems like shards pf glory are nearly worthless and generating new pips should be easyer (generating new pips, gaining more pips as the enemy loses)

A possible solution for both problems (if Anet agrees that those would be problems) make shards of glory consumable;

Before the match starts, there is anNPC in rated games you can donate the shards of glory (the NPC can rebuild them to gliry or place the shards of glory in a shard hole), and now you gain the CHANCE for more pips;

Donate 50 shards – if you win, you gain one extra pip
Donate 100 shards – if you lose, you don’t lose pips or win streak
Donate 200 shards – gain even one more extra pip (only buyable after you spend already 50 shards)

Those options are only buyable if you are not on a save point and only before the game starts. Those buyable chances for pips stack with a winstreak (winstreak + 250 chards gives 4 pips in total)

The price for shards should soon rise and after that happend, tge gain ratio of shards vs the price/use should be in a reasonable balance

I would raise the prices a little, but this is a fun idea. Maybe just one extra pip and no pip on loss though. This would let you spend shards when you are close to a save point to remove a lot of the frustration of getting so close then getting stuck with crappy teams over and over.

I think this would definitely boost PvP participation and make the whole thing more fun. Would also give good value to shards.

Hiw much shards can you get in one pvp-track? I guess that numver would be resonable for becoming the chance of gaining a pip – or not loosing – or maybe even both?

(But i’d say not loosing a pip should be twice as expensive as gaining an extra pip with shards)

Maybe the reason why you start losing pips starting in ruby is to really differentiate those that are truly skilled pvp’ers vs those who think they are “good.” Not everyone will get The wings, nor do they deserve it.

Just have tickets buyable with shards. And have an alternative to the division cross achievement that you get for like….2500 shards. Now people won’t care about their “I’m in mmr hell” because even though they’re not progressing in divisions, they’re still grinding towards their shiny.
