i don’t think the problem with paid queues is psychological. There’s simply no one playing spvp anymore. The other factor that slows down queues is the cost, 5 tickets is a bit much for solo-queue players who rely completely on the spvp daily for tickets. But really, the problem enlies in the lack competitive teams that play regularly, there’s maybe 5 decent teams in all of NA and none of these teams play until late at night when they can get everyone on. We just need a competitive scene
We just need a competitive scene
Problem is we’re not going to get one until we have a strong casual playerbase that ENJOYS PVP in this game. Without that, well… Those top premades are just going to sit around playing with themselves all night.

I know alot of the times even at night we look at the 1/8 and we dont que paids because of it. So i would think other teams do the same thing. so why not remove that from the equation and just have more ppl sitting in queues rather than not. I dont think tickets are the problem its just getting a pop. Even though i agree with you that tickets are a little much but still thats not the underlying problem its that people arent queuing when they do have the tickets for it.

yep and for that to happen the game needs to become more solo queue-friendly

I’m pretty sure the 1/8 only means the number of teams queued on YOUR server (Correct me if I am wrong), since I have gotten queue pops when it is much lower than 7/8.
the point is that more teams would queue rather than not

True. Also conquest is just boring when it’s 100% of the gameplay type. CTF, TDM, hell freaking escort the yak would at least be different and keep some interest up.
But you could also place some of the blame on all the “good” players as well for sitting in free tourneys farming pug/solo queuers and talking crap. Mostly it’s the attitude they give off, like farming a bunch of random solo queue guys in round two while sitting on a meta-optimized team with Voip is somehow impressive and leet. I solo queue frees often and once you wait through the queue and get into the first round it’s fun, everyone GG’s. Then you get to round two with the premades and the entire round is just trash talk and being general d-bags. Sticks and stones and all, except then I am waiting solo queued for another team for an hour cause the people that tried free tourneys just said kitten that and moved on.
Even Age of Conan had a more community friendly “top-pvper” rapport with the rest of the community of casual pvpers than the ‘pros’ here in GW2 and that’s saying something considering the AoC pvp community was rabid and frothed venom at the mouth towards each other as a whole.

ya it would definately keep the teams in queue rather that just going into frees instead which would push them to go into spvp while they wait
