Should we roll back the old system?
More people are playing right now than before. Anet won’t even consider reverting back unless the number of people playing dropped substantially lower than where it was before the patch…
TL;DR Might as well stop making these kind of threads since it’s useless.
I like the new system, even if I want ever sniff the top part of the leaderboards. My games have been pretty balanced.

I was sceptic at first (I had a lot of very imbalanced matches in the days that followed the patch), but with time it got better. 4v5 are now rare, queues are ridiculously short, and queuing solo is as rewarding as queuing as a team. Before the patch, I felt obligated to play in a full premade all the time, and now I’ve rediscovered the wonders of soloq! The only thing I don’t like is the new leaderboards: the old ones were just fine: even casuals could be on top, provided they fought well and won against the odds.
hate to admit it but i am missing old system

Yes. This system has improved nothing at all, but has done incredible damage to so many parts of the PvP experience. I once thought that the ‘map vote’ and ‘ready check’ were good features of this update. But now I know them to be nothing more than an annoyance that forces idle waiting, more UI clutter (that cant be moved/minimized), and more clicking/the illusion of choice in the voting.
The matchmaking is worse, the leaderboard is worse, the wait times are similar/but more boring for me (yes I know I can ‘exploit’ by leaving queue and going about my business in the rest of Gw2), there are bugs that didn’t exist before, the perfectly fine roster system has been scrapped for a less functional party entry system, I can go on and on.
People generally have more time for games during this time of year, and Gw2 PvP enthusiasm should be at its highest yet due to the WTS/ESL tournaments. And yet the game is rotting. I hope the so called “developers” will return soon and realize their folly.

Where are you getting your info?? Myself personally know of at least, now, 70+ players that have stopped playing due to this kitten new system.
And thats not even counting the ppl in map chat that quit on a daily basis or the ones that state most of their guild has quit as well.

Awesome. Show these metrics that show all these new players. Oh, and let’s also compare the players now to a year ago while you are at it. Can’t wait to see.
I like the match ready and map selection features but I really want solo q back.
I miss it a lot, but I think reverting it back would be too good to be true. :/
I don’t think we should. The old system didn’t become decent in a single night. It took years to get there. The new system work better and you should give it time. If anything the problem itself lies somewhere else.
I think there is a lot of good with the new system. Hardly ever see people leave. Queues are short. Match selection is a great feature. It’s the lack of a true solo q option that I don’t like.

So you are essentially saying that the old system was good and the new system is not good yet. We should just hope that one day it might become better than the old system?
Here is a better idea: Let us use the system that works, and ANET can beta test new systems elsewhere.
We still need to see dishonor be activated. The system can and will be tweaked some more, to avoid class stacking and unfair matchups (mostly the solo vs team thing) and the leaderboards will be tweaked too to emphasize winning more (atleast I hope so).
It’s a bit too early to talk about rollbacks.
The only issue I see is with the way leagues would work. I’m afraid there’ll only be leagues based on the current system (solo’s and teams thrown together, whereas teams won’t be represented in those leagues but just the individual players of those teams).

Throw out: Hotjoin!
Fact is we need split Solo and Team Queues. That’s the only way teams will get their good match-ups and Solos will feel more at ease (even if they’ll forever complain about 4v5s and bad players urgh!).
We don’t need to revert back to the old system. If anything, a team Leaderboard would make things all the more interesting.

A ranked only split would be good. But then they have to go all the way:
No more solo’s in teamq (like it used to be). In fact you should only allow full team rosters.
An incentive to team up (better reward structure + Automated tournament structure with an entry fee of X teamq wins).
But I think they’re afraid of the population issues (which we’ve seen has been the major problem in two years of gw2 pvp).

Before didn’t people run solo in teamq? Idk i see it as the same thing.
New system >>>> Old system.
As pointed out above, general activity is much higher than before, why on earth would they revert? Sure there are improvements to be made, but this new system has only been in place for a few weeks, hardly shocking that it’s not perfect yet.

people don’t leave because
1. skyhammer is gone
2. there is ready button in this game finally
it has absolutely nothing to do with how crappy current mmr/leaderboards system is

Bots farming ranked 24/7 is called activity, okkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

Actually, I take it back. The one sided matches are getting insane.
I much prefer the new system. I’ve been playing more PvP since, and enjoying it, than I have in a long time.
I’m not a hardcore PvPer. But I’m also not just a PvEr doing dailies. I wanted exactly what this update was designed to provide – a casual play option that was more structured than the cesspool that hotjoin is. So I play in the unranked queue, and I enjoy it, and it is far better than solo or team queues were for me. Queues are short for me even out of prime time, 50% or so of my matches are good, and most of the rest are at least decent. 4v5s are rare.
I’ll accept that there are issues in the ranked queue that need to be addressed, but don’t call for a rollback of everything because of those. I know I’m not the only one that much prefers what we have now compared to the old.

I don’t think you saw how the old system worked. There were a ton of solos in team queue. Why? Two reasons. 1. Avoid the horrible maps of skyhammer and spirit watch. 2. Better rewards

Wrong. The amount of pve heroes that farm dailies increased. The amount of PvP players decreased.
The ratio is 1:3 so it looks like more people are playing but its the opposite.
If that is the case then Anet got exactly what they wanted which was to entice player that were ignoring that mode to try it. If that bothers you I don’t know what to tell you, but it is pretty clear that has be the general plan of action for quite some time now.
old system was way better… it just needed little tweaks on the decay system. this current system is for premades who farm pugs 20 hours each day (current top leaderboard…).

Ehm… Why would you think I don’t know that? I know why there were a ton of soloq in teamq and I said that’s not how it should be….

I can only speak for myself – I haven’t had more than 2 matches I thought were fun in the new system. (it’s either my team gets steamrolled or we destroy the enemy team, no close games whatsoever). On the other hand 80% of my matches during the old lb were very competitive, being matched with and against people on my skill level all the time. I don’t have intentions to play much from now on untill they either revert the system or make some improvements, because the current state is clear to everyone – broken.

This. So much this.
I enjoyed the last pvp system even though I despised the issues. But the new system doesn’t stop 4v5s, is looser with matchmaking and has introduced its own legit issues like premades farming solos.
Oh and the whole profession win idea is really terrible.
