Sometimes when you switch weapons you won’t gain energy

It happens at random, in order to have sigils to proc you need to be PERFECTLY still, otherwise they’ll fail.

This is kinda gamebreaking, please fix, thanks.

If you have another on-weapon swap sigil, the cooldowns will interfere. Also, if you have an on-crit sigil, the cooldown on that will interfere.

If you have another on-weapon swap sigil, the cooldowns will interfere. Also, if you have an on-crit sigil, the cooldown on that will interfere.

If on-crit sigils interfere it’s a very bad bug

it’s not bugged.
it works perfectly, just it shares cooldown with every on swap and on crit% sigils

Thief might not be as strong as last year
but they’re a lot stronger
than they will be next year!

used it with force, still the same.

If you use double sigil of energy it randomly misses to restore endurance.

And anyway, it should NEVER share CD with “on crit” sigils, since “on crit” and “on weapon swap” sigils are DESIGNED to not share cooldown.

No they are designed to share cooldowns. Else two one handed weapons would trump two handed weapons. But yes, I’ve heard there are a lot of bugs with sigils. I think moa still breaks sigils. What do you mean double sigil of energy? On the same set or both weapon sets having one sigil of energy?

They are NOT designed to to not share cooldown. Can you imagine how OP some classes with 4 weapons instead of 2 would be? Also, what class are you?

2 weapon sets with 1 sigil each.

Sigils of the SAME NATURE ( on crit shares CD with other on crit sigils and such) are designed to share CD, in order to avoid, for example, fire and air to proc at the same time.

“on weap swap” and “on crit” sigils are of different natures, so they should NOT share CD by no means.

And, anyway, i tried it with Force ( static stat enhancement) + energy, same results: random misses on energy gains.

So it’s definitively bugged.

What profession are you testing it with? Energy also has an internal cooldown.

And all proc-based sigils, whether it’s on critical or on weapon swap are mutually exclusive. It’s better that way. Otherwise, any profession that swaps weapons with two one-handed weapons (like a d/d ele) a lot would receive a much larger benefit than anyone else.

On weapon swap effects share a cool down with on crit procs.

On kill effects are seperate.

Passive effects are seperate.

If you have Fire / Force on one set and Energy / Force on the other set and you proc fire then swap to the second set, Energy would not proc. (Intended).
After Energy procs if you swapped to the first set you would need to wait 9s for Fire to be able to proc. (Intended).

This is designed for balance.

Otherwise Fire/Energy ~ Fire/Hydromancy ~ Blood/Leeching 1H set ups would be everywhere and utterly over powered.

You need to make a choice, this is not a bug.

Threads like this are prime example of how GW2 needs to be more forthcoming with details involving skills, traits, and gear. Granted most players who encounter issues of this kind of nature do some testing or research before posting a QQ thread……cough cough*

Either way for the community’s sake and to rid this forum of uninformed crybabies, please try and implement some sort of in-game explanation of these mechanics.

It’s best to assume that every sigil that has a cooldown attached to it is shared with the other sigil of that wep set. It was all explained in detail awhile ago exactly which sigil types shared cooldowns with eachother, but it’s pretty much just all of them.
That’s why you can never have sigil of rage with anything but static bonus sigils or stacking sigils, 40s cd on crit OP.
It’s hard to explain, but this has been pretty common knowledge since launch.

the energy sigil not proccing at all may be a new bug, idk. but the shared icds are indeed designed that way.

I do know Geomancy has always shared a CD with every other crit proc sigils, and it has been like that since launch. Originally the other two (energy and battle) both had the same but one patch it just started to work on proccing still with crit sigils but geomancy did not.

The crit proc before the weapon swap will cause the swap sigil to go on CD from the other weapon set. Its not something like a 10s cooldown but attaches the same CD as the ability that it proc’d (ie kitten w/ the quickness sigil). so the ability that actually will stop the energy from proc’n is a crit proc from the weapon you just swapped from. Not what it is paired with. If you get the swap off then your crit proc will have a 10s cooldown.

Personally I don’t think that energy sigils should exist at there is already endurance regen naturally, traits for it, and vigor. When you place even more things such as knockbacks/stuns, invulns, evades, blocks, distortions, teleports… it gets a bit ridiculous that they even exist. (no to mention traits that heal you on dodge roll, grant protection, etc etc)

I know how sigils work, I really don’t have to argue anything.
Energy sigils are bugged, not sure of the cause yet.
I agree they’re bad and so is anything to with dodge rolls, but unfortunately Guardian would be 100% ruined without it (all builds). This game needs a redesign.

Necromancer is broken even with properly working Energy Sigils, so it is less impactful for them and Warriors who are just not in a viable place right now.

Guardian is probably hurt most by this bug. Without the Energy Proc’s the Guardian Bunker is much more killable as they are losing a dodge and a heal every time this happens, and since their source of vigor is far less reliable than others you may see other bunkers with built in evades and more vigor access getting more play. Skill based Bunker play (like the Guardian has) may very well be replaced by passive, no talent dodge spamming builds like the Ranger has. Hell, I saw a thief bunkering last night with a cheese evade build. The sigils hurt them less than Guard because they have spammable evade on weapon skills and can stealth in between dodgespams. They can’t hold a point like a Guard, and they get neuted fairly easily, but well played they now have better sustain than a Guardian in some situations while still having fantastic mobility by comparison and better damage.
