because a nerf to zerkers like power rangers, wars and thieves is exactly what is needed in this condi meta with invisible mesmers and unkillable eles.

There is no condition meta it’s all burst,cele and bunker even on necro,ele or guard.

those who complain about d/d godmode must be the biggest scrubs. i see d/d ele go down in teamfights all the time, ah but maybe that’s because I’m an awful person who queues on TS and focuses targets. sure it’s pretty wild in a 1v1 if the ele is skilled, but ro- ro- rotate into a 2v1 and splat him down.
the nerf is good. these sigils were hitting for far too much.

Condi meta? LMAO? It is a burst meta / cele meta right now and nothing has changed with this sigil nerf…. Everybody isn’t going suddenly go bunker down because 25% dmg was nerfed from 2 sigils.

also lmao all you want … if a burn guard sets you up nicely (and they always do when you try to defend a cap) you are GG because burn does insane amount of damage. And guardians stack burning without even having a target on you. They just walk around like huge fireballs …. speaking of passive play, lol.

Based off what I’m seeing, I’m pretty convinced they have a program that rng changes something at random with every patch, but what’s ironic is that the change ends up being better than what’s intended. Give it a few weeks like the bugged mantra change, they’ll rip out any hope you had in them prior, if you had any to begin with.

Other point is, damage across the board is too high and this is the #1 best way to globally nerf glass dps as most glass dps uses it and it is passive/not fun AND it doesn’t affect pve builds. More damage coming from the source is great.
However, yes, there are other fish to fry. Why they didn’t touch PU, confounding suggestions or Ele yet is beyond me, but regardless, this still was something that needed to be done for a long time.

Have to agree with this, several of those classes recently lost damage modifiers with the trait changes. I don’t mind fire/air taking a hit but anet needs to put their HoT work on hold and start working on a balance patch. I for one won’t be buying an expansion while the current game is in such a sorry state.

First of all, 25% x2 = 12.5%.
Second of all, what does this calculation have to do with anything?
Also, you’re acting as if fire and air sigils are a massive part of the dps, they account for under 20% (combined dps) of the dps output from the meta zerk classes. 33% x 20% = 6.6%.

Yes – blind spam, as many stealths as a thief, 2 second invuln on a 12 second cd equates to no defense, protection uptime from the first two chaos minor traits and PU (thieves have no prot) equates to no defense.

A lot of Sigils need to be nerfed. Don’t understand why they only changed Air/Fire and left things like Geomancy/Doom/Leeching/Intelligence untouched…

its fine to nerf damage across all classes, but dont single out Mesmer’s burst (mirror blade) in addition to the stealth nerf to the fire and air sigils. D/D Ele needs a big nerf.

All I can say to this topic is
“Good riddance. Now fix Ele.”
Those two sigils were the undisputed best DPS option for burst and sustained damage, and offered zero counterplay as it wasn’t based on out-going would-be crits but only successful ones. With power-heavy builds, these two combined could hit for 4-5k easily. Really dumb to take an auto for 7k out of nowhere. This is coming from someone who plays a crit build. Simply, the sigils are/were dumb.
Now if only they’d revert the change that prevented fire/air from working together, or bumped the cooldown up again to 10s/6s.

Eles don’t use them, so they are unaffected by the nerf. The nerf means less pressure on them, so it’s even harder to kill them than before.
It’s not a direct buff, but an indirect one.

If I were to guess, she meant that it’s a buff to eles because the damage reduction would make them harder to take down. I think that’s what she meant but I’m not sure, I suck at understanding women.
