"Signet of Spite" and "Save Yourselves!"
Its a throwback to days when other classes didn’t know how to kill a guardian, or lacked the tools to do so. A lot of guardian skills had boon duration nerfed, most notably retaliation(also took a big hit to damage) and in PvP, protection. All this plus the low health pool and lack of decent offensive traits and no ability to control a mobile fight have cemented guardians into their place in the meta. Go full support bunker or go home.
I actually kind of agree Spite should be toned down, SYs can stay reduced in PvP. I heard someone say yesterday that the TTK in this game is too high, completely blew my mind. x.X

Yes, actually if you play guardian you Must play support bunker.
I play guardian berserker and I win some fight in 1vs1, but I can not say that the dps guardian is aviable, not like necro, engi, ranger or other classes that give very high damage, and whit semi bunker builds.
That nerf can damage the CD necros just a little, making them more viable to fight.
I use the example of SY because is a skill that is equivalent in power to SP
They were going to tone signet of spite down then they did their “talk to the community bs” and after careful consideration they reversed the nerf. Hilarious really
Signet of Spite is the result of it being Opposite Day when the developers originally said that necromancers are supposed to be based on attrition instead of burst, when in actuality necromancers have the best condition burst and the worst sustain. And instead of addressing the issue, necromancers just keep having everything except burst nerfed steadily so the only viable build is the cheese Dhuumfire+Terror with Signet of Spite and staff burst (or minion build…uhg…).

I think some of the reasoning comes from the fact that outside Corrupt Boon (which no longer does it anyway), it is impossible for foes to mass strip boons. On the other hand, cleansing conditions is significantly easier. Hence, SY is balanced against itself, while SoS is balanced around some sort of cleansing effect removing the conditions before their full duration.
Whether this actually works out in practice is an entirely different matter though.
SoS inflicts 6 conditions, bleed, poision, cripple, vuln, blind and weakness.
It only adds 2 stacks of bleed and poison as damaging conditions, the signet is only used as cover for ongoing conditions.
Necros only have 1 build that’s actually effective in sPvP, condi burst. That build has been getting nerfed since the patch after the introduction of dhuumfire, both by nerfing Necromancer skills as well as buffing condition removal on other classes.
The “nerf” that got reversed was a single stack of bleed which was getting removed, instead weakling shroud was butchered and mark of blood had 1 stack of bleed removed from it.
Cry some more.
