Silly ideas for new modes
2) GvG + Reaper’s Rumble + Silent Hill(movie) survival mode :
Surroundings:
A small village , with 3 major building (church-blacksmith-school) (same size as a TPvP map)
+ 2 lesser houses on the sides
+ empty space
+ corn fields (Reaper’s Rumble) surrounding the village
+a semetery
Story:
The <<Believers of the Church>> and the <<Refugies of the School>> are blaming each other, for this cursed casted upon their village , where the living dead(or demons -vampires-lycans-or ponies (they are so evil!) , walks upon the night
How to win:
a)Kill the enemy Church or School Leader
b) In case of a tie in those 15 min , the team with most team points win the game
Gameplay:
1) Every 5 min the Silent Hill sirens goes craze , and the next 15 sec darkness falls
2) The event last 2 min (so 2 total events in a 15 min match)
3) All the village is filled zombies (none of these attack the stractures)
4) Theres 2 waves of zombies attacking the Church+School (huge amount of life)
5) U have 3 aims :
a) Try to gather 10 lesser Repair Kits (they are scattered all over te map , or kill the enemy carriers and then steal it ) to repair the gattling gun(i think i saw it on a PvE event) pointing at the door to defend vs the demons ,and cleanse them as fast as u can to attack the enemy base
b) Every 2 min on the Blacksmith theres a big Repair Kit respawing (u need 2 to repair ur trebs and shoot down the enemie building , killing every1 inside of it – exept the boss) (the ncp guards can be rezzed)
c) Try to break down the small wooden backdoor
Theres 100 woodenstock in ur building – repleneshing every 7 min
If the enemy simply damage ur door u need 10 woods to restore it to full
If they succefuly destroy , u need 50 wood
And Zombies and enemies can come throught that killing ur Lord
How to win :
1) If u succefully destroy the 2 waves fast enought with the gattling gun , a brave group of NPCs escord u (holding Flashlights – Crosses- Holy water or anything to scare the zombies from getting close ) to the enemy base and kill their lord (ur Npcs doesnt hit the enemies players , but just aggro the other Npcs guards)
2) Try to win the fights on the blacksmith and repair ur Trebuse , killng the guards and rush to their Lord
3) Destroy their backdoor , so they have double the presure + take the long route inse the corn fields (avoiding the zombies) , aiming for a backdoor rush

Zombie Apocalypse. Totally viable idea (they did it in GW2 and it was awesome). Whenever something dies (including pets, clones, other minions, etc.) it spawns a bone minion (I suggest using an updated bone minion skin from GW1 for sentimental value). Map fills with obsurd numbers of minions in a matter of minutes and it is hysterical to see (You Tube it if you haven’t seen it). Perhaps institute a Dhuum Ban on leavers in sPvP (temporary of course) and turn the match into a Zombie Apocalypse so all of the players in the match know that a leaver has kittened up the match and minions are going to pop into everything to make it at least interesting.

GW2 won’t be an inescapably mediocre game (not to sound cruel).
But yeah, the game really needs something that the devs seem to slow and worried about failure to give.

We need a contest where people can make a small map(with paint or something, nothing special only to help understand better what you are writing) and then explain a game mode with some text like the guy(s) above.
Would be interesting to see ArenaNet then choose 1 of the map ideas sent by a player and make them into a game map.

That won’t get the game very far…
Making a new sort of map for a game is something that needs ALLOT of testing and fiddlng aruond, something an understaffed dev team can’t really spare time for. The best and odds say only hope for a new well done map is threw the release of player made custom map making.
4) Killing the Lord + Legend of Zelda (timetravels)

Edit: My aim is to splt the 5 ppl team , into a 3v3 (present) and 2v2 (past)
Story :
2 group of Archeologists and their Escord , discovered an almost destroyed undergound ancient City .
This city is believed to be one of the few remaining Fortresses used by the Asuras , before they rise up to the surface .
Each groups aim , is to protect this priceless national treasure , from the believed to be <<Thug>> enemy team .
Theres 2 ways u can play the map :
a) Like a Normal GvG spliting 4 ppl on the left long coridor and 1 on the right (Gates on the <<Yellow+Orange Doors>> are sealed . And the <<Pink>> tunnel is colapsed from a Earthquake)
b) Or use ur Asura Npc help and travel back to time to take advantage of the Fortresses sealed corridors .
(Normaly i wanted to put some flamethrowers-arrow-traps and other stuff , on each long corridor walls (only 1 corridor can have their traps enabled- trapping the enemy team inside and slowing them) , but ppl hate PvE stuff …. )
Gameplay :
a) While u wait for the game to start , u can speak to the Asura , teleporting u 100 years to the <<Past>> .
b) Ontop ur healing spell , theres a flip-switch , that u must channel it for 15 sec , so u can return to the <<Present>> .
c) There is no limit of ppl or times u can travel back to the <<Past>> . But more ppl on the past = less ppl to defend ur Guild Lord on the <<Present>>.
d) On the <<Past>> , ur primary objective is to control the Computer on the <<Core>> and kill the enemy intruder .
The computer have 3 fuctions :
1) Open the doors in the <<Yellow-Orange>> area (opening the door in 1 area color , close it on the other) .
Closing and opening the doors in the Past , automaticaly does the same in the <<Present>> (the animation and the mechanic could be the same as the WvWvW doors , that are repaired automaticaly when u capture the Keep) .
PPl must cordinate with each other , to open the corect door or try to run away from the enemies .
2) Program <<Nanobots>> to protect ur teamm8s , reducing their damage taken by 10% and ur Lord and Guards by 50% . (Program the computer to protect any Char that wears Red plate armor , has a scar on the right chick and wears a bandana , regadles of how long time pass)
3) Enable Sonar : U can see ur enemies on the Map <<M>>
The same can do the enemy
But if u are quick and organized , u can activate the Sonar for 1 sec and track them , before the Enemy could push <<M>>
e) If u failed to control the Computer , or the enemy class-build is stronger , u can aim for the second objectives
f) 1st Objective : Try to gather the 2 <<Seeds>> from both <<Food Storages>> . (Most of the foods are rotten by now -only seeds remain)
U can place them in the <<Greenhouse>> or <<Science Lab>> .
By placing 1 seed on the Greenhouse , ur teamm8s on the <<Present>> get 5% hp increase and ur Lord – Guards by 25% (something like Moral Boost) .
2 seeds on the Greenhouse = 10% on team8s , 50% on Lord-Guards .
(Like WvWvW doors , a plant magicaly shown up on the <,Present>> would be prety cool)
By placing the seed instead on the Science Lab , u may loose the <<Morale Boost>> , but u gain map mobility (growing a Tree at the <<Present>>).
Like the Pic is showing (on the bottom of the thread) , 1 seed guaranted half map mobility , while 2 creates a Vine Road u can walk on and get near the enemy base .
The enemy too can use this Road , so its better to cummunicate with the guy on the <<Past>> to remove a seed and stop the enemy advance
g) Under the <<Core>> , there is a purple room (in the<<Present u cant access it , neither the <<Pink>> tunnel) .
Every one min , 1 repair kit respawn , which u can place it at the <<bomb>> icon at the enemy base .
U need 3 repair kits to fully repair the bomb and then u must push <<activate>> (the enemy can <<diactivate it>>).
If u succefuly do this , at the <<Present>> near the Enemy Lord will spawn a 30k Hp bomb .
If its an <<activated bomb>> and u destroy it , all players (friends or foes) take 10k damage and the Lord + Guards take massve damage (3/4 hp destroyed) (any1 can use his body to reflects projectiles or use knockback , so theye enemy dont explode the bomb) .
If its an <<diactivate bomb>> it does nothing .
The bomb respawn every 3 min , regadles if its <<activated or diactivated>>

Arms Race mode from CS:GO.
Kill everyone you see, easy and fun enough. Learn how to handle all weapons in the process.
Would require the player to be some weird omni class for the gamemode, but honestly, game first, who cares about no-gameplay related character details in fun PvP?

It seems theres some ppl that love organized and longer teamfights , backing up each others weakness (and some ppl miss support characters ….snif ..snif..)
So….
5) Killing the Lord + Create the <<Demigod>> class (an almost perfect CC+Healing+ Support class) , as long as u continue to keep channeling to the Dwayna’s or Grenth’s altar .
a) He has the ability to view everything like an RTS strategie game (like SAvage 2 or NS2)
b) or he can participate right next to his comrades as a half tranparent imortal beeing (cannot be CC-ed / Damaged or Healed) , or teleport next to them by double tapping their Health Bar .
While he keeps praying to the altar , a magican shield envelops his physical human body , reducing damage taken by 70% ( the animation could be same as Conjure Earth Shield : Fortify ) .
If ur body is under attack , u can leave the <<Fortify>> (grants 0.5 sec Invulnerability) to fight back the enemy , or u can ask one of ur team8s nearby to kill the intruder .
c) He has 2 action bars –
He can cast all the 9 Combo fields – 6-8 sec duaration – 2sec CD .
By controling-channeling to the Dwayna’s statue , Light +Water+Lightning fields cost 4 <<Divine Favors>> .
While Grenth’s statue reduce Poison+Smoke+Ice fields cost 4 <<Divine Favors>> .
By capturing each yellow <<Beacon>> at the <<Underground Mine>>, grants ur Demigod 4 <<Divine Favors>> per sec .
While orange’s <<Beacons>> in the mid , grants 8 <<Divine Favors>>.
d) He can use Blast finishers (Lightning Flash animation) . Cost 2 <<Devine Favors>> . 0.5 sec cd .
Whirl finisher (a pale small particle Tornato animation) . 2 <<Devine Favors>> . Last and has cds of 5 secs .
Projectile finisher . cost 1 <<Devine Favors>> . 0.5 sec CD . Cannot be used while u are in the RTS mega view .
e) He can select a 1200 area and grants swiftness
He can use the Light field + Projectile finisher to cleanse his friends from Conditions
He can use Ice fields + blast finisher , slowing the enemies
He can use Smoke field + blast to stealth his alies
He can cat 3x Water fields next to each other and in the mid of it blast a single Blast Finisher for triple the healing
The enemy Demigod , can do the same , in order to clease the slow from his friends .
Or cast a single Poison+ Fire shields bwtween the enemies 3x Water fields and ask his teamm8s to AoE that area .
Or the Demigod will waster more resources to give swiftness to his his team8s , if they are are scattered all over the map
By removing the need of ur team8s to waste a utility slot for Condtion Removal+ Speed Utility , we might see something new in the meta .
Storry :
…… U have been tasked to investigate the sleeping forest and find out whats foul creature is scarring the traveleres .
There is an old folklore , that 50 years ago a young couple fall in love despite their families hatred (y i know cheasy Romeo and Juliet ) .
In order to see each other each day without being noticed , they use the abandoned <<Underground Mine>> .
Althought their love was strong , it was scattered by a horrible accident .
An eartquake occured , destroying the couples dreams and hopes .
Deap into the Mine there where Dwayna and Grenth shrines , where they woshiped and in tern protect the miners from any harm
That accident even touch the gods heart , transforming the young couple bodies before their last breath , into 2 seperate human like trees trying to reach each other hands .
Know as today the <<Lovers Trees>> .
U must be in haste althought , beacause there are other ppl on their way …..
(Ur aim is :
a) be the nice guys and knock out the enemy , leaving the spirits at peace
b) tray to kill the spirits and the competition for the money
Mechanic:
1) u can take a <<Doll>> from the pink house and place it to the female like tree , giving ur friends a +5% hp bonus and +25% to ur guards +Guilds Lord (Morale Boost)
An additional effect , if u get the <<Book>> from the Male house and place it ot the other tree .
If u want to <,capture >> those 2 points for ur team u must fetch an new items , from both abandoned Houses
2) If the enemies from the first min of the match try rush to ur Guilds Lord , u can
pray to the Dwayna statue , in order to give foes and allies a -10% damage reduction and each enemy and friendly Guard and Guilds Lord a bonus of -50% damage taken .
Theres 2 otpion at each statue :
a) pray- giving an effect with 5 min cd .
b) channel – use devine powers , like the Combo fields , Blast finishers etc ..
3) U can destroy each tree (they have 30k hp , can be healed with devine powers)
By killing each tree removes the (Morale Boost) from ur team and give the exact opposite as a Curse , to any friend or enemy or any NPC in the map .
(-10% HP to players , -50% to NPCs )
Killing bothe Trees , triggersthe <<Wrath of the Gods>> , summoning a wild storm-rain , draining 1% of the total HP on both ur friends and ur enemies and all the NPCs every sec
4) In order to remove the <<Wrath of the Gods>> and the Curse from ur team , u must <<pray>> to the Grenth altar , sucrificing urself and tringers 1 min CD till ur respawn

5) Beacons:
a) grants <<Devine Favor>> each sec = fuels to cast Devine spells
b) use them as Line of Sight , to prevent backdoors
c) u can use ur Devine powers , in a radus of 1200 range from ur friends lacation , or the radius of the Beacons
(we wouldnt like to use Fire field from the first sec to the enemy base :P)
My aim is , to split 2 ppl underground (1 using the gods powers and the other capturing the beacons) and 3 others pushing on the Surface to the enemy base

Random rant :
a) I heard a beautiful idea from the de… old geezers a while ago , that Legacy of the Foefire’s boss could offers more Team Points the longer it stay alives , in order to give more chance to the loosing team to win the match .
An silly idea is to program specific maps , in purpose to give extremly less points for all objectives (for example killing a players awards 2 Team Points instead of 5) .
That way most matches after 15 min , could end with a total score of 250-300 points , while theoritical it should stops at 500 .
Lets take 2 genua pigs for example :
1) The first piggy is playing a match and his in the 7th min . The enemy team have snoballed him and their are loosing 150-300 . The results is : AFK/bad name their team8s/shos the rank imbalance in the forums , holding pitch and torches vs the company
2) The second piggy playing a match and his in the 7th min . The enemy team have snoballed him and their are loosing 75-150 . The results is : his piggy mind dont see much huge Team Points advantage and will strive to win a bit more , without need any AFK/Leach/Bot/Harrash penalty systems .
By combining this with Guild Lord that triples ur Current Team points (u already have 169 points) offer istantly win and a counterback
. But killing the Lord/Capturing the last points , doesnt show the final score , but instead of numbers shows <<Winners>> and <<Loosers>>
So in results , ppl wont quit in the mid of the game , nor get whinned in the forums that lost 100-512 .
Random rant b) : Immagine exept of classes skill cap and skill floor (not a freaking clue what they mean) , we could promote PvP maps that use <<enviromentally>> mehanics or weapons , that increase even more the skillcap/floor of each player . That for example would seperate the <<elite>> from the <<normal>> ppl . And if there some minor mechnics to help the loosing team from beeing snowballed
Edit: Also its more easily to guide new ppl to eploit the map mechanic , rather than : <<hurp durp u have to get better with ur class>>
