Anet can you please fix all those hillarious skilldodges? Why are you able to evade in immobilize via skilldodges but not normal ones? It makes a lot of classes so easy to play (rangers, thiefs, mesmers, even warriors got one on gs).

Despite the logical reason to not being able to avoid something while being stucked to one spot, there’s another. For example rangers dont care about immob, they’re happy about it. If you know that you’ll get spiked in immobilize you eat in on purpose, because afterwards you just evade the whole dmg instead of a non-damaging immobilize. Evades are meant to predict or react to enemy skills and the skilldodges are just cheap panic-buttons…

i guess he means the bugged ileap… you can actually dodge while immob when its timed right but only at the very start and only once… you even see the attached chains in dodge

Maybe it did work? Dunno but it always worked for me.

Nah simply as a Thief without any traits or stuff like that.

You can just react to your opponent. Try bursting him when he swaps away from the evasion set.

Also consider how reliant these classes are on their dodges to be effective. Without then the game will suffer from serious balance issues.

The point is to use the dodge for the immobilize, not just to eat the immobilize and dodge then. It makes evading simple and braindead. Of course they should stay in game, that’s not the question

Which set should you be careful not to spike the thief in? S/D or Shortbow? Oh wait… Well maybe they are out of initiative (which is ridiculous because their entire build is built for gaining it) Oh wait.. Their heal does it too… Strong thief bet he’s pro.

It’s balanced and fair. The only problem is that you don’t want to try and work around them. Should we lose any condition removal from weapons so that they can’t cleanse immobilize either. Is that too unfair?

Being able to evade while immobilized is just wrong. You use immobilize not only to stop enemies but to setup bursts. Whats the point of this condi if a thief or a ranger can just spam dodges while immobilized?

You just answered your own question, those classes have limited access to block and invun. Most of their defence comes from avoiding attacks not to mention they also have a pretty small HP pools, only medium armor, and ranger has limited condition removal. Especially a non-tank spec ranger is basically dead once immobilized unless some evade skill is available (thieves have a few get-away skills in most builds).

Why should landing an immobilize, which some specs can basically spam, allow you to one shot classes with no/limited hard defences? Surely that is the definition of easy mode and skilless play.
