Sky hammer dream team
Heh, I’m the one that knocked you off the edge there.
And I’m pretty sure Wunzy only play engie on skyham. That’s called adapting.

Yeah. It’s up to the players to all learn to play engi because one class dominates on a map, not the devs’ jobs to balance the map so that people can play all classes, right?

Mesmer is actually the best class for skyhammer, but barely anyone plays it.

Mesmer requires a lot more precision gameplay than engineer to be as effective in skyhammer. Like everything we do.
push build engi’s are already ridiculously overpowered in 1v1 situations but in sky hammer it’s just game ruining
i honestly think that some of the devs’ ego will ruin this game
A few nights ago I had a match in SoloQ, four mesmers on my team and me as a decap engi, three engis on the enemy team and one mesmer. It’s funny how Skyhammer emphasizes completely different team comps compared to other maps. By funny I mean disgustingly imbalanced
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.

uhh yeah? we don’t have nade spam and push every 2 seconds. learn your class

Skyhammer engis dont play with nades sorry :P. They use flamethrower, elixer S and toolkit. There is a turret alternative but that doesnt have nades either.

uhh…yes they do?

You probably faced a regular build that has knockback abbilities (like celestial rifle for example). Which is good, but relatively easy counterable once you learned how to position and use your CDs effectively.

Decap/push engi is one of the weakest Engineer builds for 1v1. It’s entirely a skyham/team build.
Stability will hardcounter a decap. Otherwise it still doesn’t beat anything, it just lasts longer.
As always though, skill > build. A player with solid mechanics will still wreck nubs regardless of build focus.
@Jae:
Try this:
Rifle/Hammer with Rampage and any three of the following: Fear Me, Dolyak Signet, Balanced Stance, Stomp and with adept traits for stance duration or signet recharge (depending on what you’ve chosen as utilities).
With this build you can have up to a minute of stability and at least 4 push backs.
IMHO, every class can make a useful Skyhammer build except ele (maybe even ele with enough stunbreaks and DPS to take out the enemy… and fast reflexes xd).
@Freeelancer
And yet, people are still going to play there cookie cutter hambow warrior, stealthless thief, condi necro, and sort of mismatching builds. Afterwards, complaining on forums how bad the map is, because adapation is above their capabilities.
I’ve tried “adapting” on my thief and using wire, but literally 90% of the time the pulled enemy will just stumble in place and not get pulled, any reason for that?
@Dagins:
All true, but I’m hoping that at least someone from that crowd read what I’ve wrote and thought to him/herself about changing their build to accommodate the map instead of expecting the other way round.
@limbeurt:
Never played thief in Skyhammer, but from what I’ve heard, in order to use the wire “properly” you need to get the target into combat first.
Until Anet implements a way for me to save builds and switch at the click of a button I shouldn’t have to change builds just for one specific map. It’s a pain in the kitten going back and forth all the time.

or rather, switch clsases. elementalists are completely worthless on this map

Try Blinding Powder → Shortbow Stealth #1 immob → Stand on glass + Scorpion Wire → Dodge back
Carrying enemy team since 2012
“Multiclass implies you can actually play the class” – a certain royalty
Play a Gaurdian normally with no stability on Sky hammer and it fairly rare to be dropped and I occasionally knock one off with my shield. Just got to know where your at.

In 90% cases modifying your build to be ‘ok’ on Skyhammer is about switching one utility skill, and in extreme cases secondary weapon set.
You don’t need to change your build entirely.

Would be funny to see 5 mesmers, each with GS + x/F on there.
I’d probably just say sorry to my team and close the client.
