Skyhammer Compromise
I actually like the fall to death mechanic. What makes it seem cheesy is that the side points and the control room are cramped, making it hard to avoid potential knockbacks while also avoid damage.
I’d rather see the glass at the side points moved away from the point a little and the area around the side points enlarged slightly. For the control room, extend it a bit further back by the portal.

Unless Arenanet wants to add knockback and pull balance to their list of imbalances which needs to be fixed, this map should not be in any competitive queue.
@OP: I agree with both of your suggestions. It should be removed from solo queue. For sPvP, skyhammer should definitely be dodgeable.
This map is TERRIBLE! Anet dropped the ball with this one, spirit watch is fun and competitive.. this skyhammer is just a lame troll paradise. I and most people would prefer to see it removed from solo que. Or atleast edit it and remove the broken glass and the damage done by the cannon.

I really like this map and all it’s mechanics. It’s something different than other maps and that’s maybe why it’s so great.
It’s different (for some ppl even funny), but definitely not competitive, which soloq should be. It cripples the game if one ability is enough to kill someone. Especially when these abilities are spamable and so easy accessible for bunker speccs.
Goodbye risk-reward and kitten logic.
