I realize I’m in the minority, but I actually enjoy the idea of the map. It challenges players to focus on how they are positioned as a misplay could easily cause your death. There are so many ways you can position yourself to minimize getting KO’d, it really shouldn’t be a problem. However, I do see a problem with the actual Skyhammer. The fact that it can hit a whole point, knocks down targets, does good damage, and is unblockable makes it way too strong. There isn’t anything else in this game that can’t be dodged and for good reason. My suggestion is allow the Skyhammer to be dodgeable! Another thing to try out is possibly reduce the damage of the Skyhammer and replace it with stacks of confusion. This would make it feel like a different mechanic instead of Kyhlo Treb 2.0. It would be best to make the confusion stacks high, but very short duration so its not so easily countered by condi-cleanse. This would make the Skyhammer good for disrupting combat on a point, and it would introduce some counter-play on the poor unfortunate souls being hit.

tldr; 1. Allow the Skyhammer shot to be dodgeable. 2. Reduce the damage of the shot and add X stacks of confusion to the targets hit.

Every time when I see posts like this I like to imagine this kind of map being made and forcefully put in other competitive game map rotation. For example counter-strike: you have your de_dust2, de_nuke, de_inferno and then fy_narrowledgesoversomepit that was made by an 8 year old in 2 hours. Or teamfortress2: you have cp_badlands, cp_granary, and cp_alotofpitsandcornersforpyropushing. Even wow does not have an arena map that allows you to cc opponent to some pit.

The only way to fix skyhammer is to delete it, you cant salvage it as a competitive map, developers failed. Its just too bad they will not admit it.

Differences
Cannon, you can dodge a cannon ball coming towards you in real life.
Trebuchet, you can dodge a treb attack coming towards you in real life.
Skyhammer, you cannot dodge a nuke in real life.

No one in Hiroshima was able to side step, dodge roll or anything in that nature to a nuke attack. If anything, it should have a side effect like lava instead called radiation which you slowly die as well.

I would almost agree with you if 2 of the capture points weren’t insta kill positions for stealth pullers. Can’t cap without stealth pull death. Can defend somewhat, unless you fight on point…you know… to hold it, at which point you get stealth pulled.

Only almost agree tho. Not being able to dodge hammer is another issue. Matter of fact if you remove the glass panels from A C and Hammer and let me dodge hammer blasts I will never create another skyhammer post or topic again.

I would go so far as to say having glass panels all around B but letting A and C be 1 shot kill free would even be a vast improvement. That way all the engies can touch each other’s magnets while the rest of us actually PvP

If they really want to try and salvage this map (hey, at least the jump pads are fun), then there’s two things that would help:
1. The left and right glass plates at points A and C really have to go. Cheesiest deaths happen here more than anywhere else on the map. Replace with solid floor or something.
2. Reduce hammer radius, damage and increase cooldown. In a map where positioning is life or death, having the kittening hammer cover the radius it does, being unevadeable, is just a joke. Worse when you have a bunker petting zoo in control of it. Maybe they should try disabling the hammer completely and see how things play out.

I know that’s barely scratching the surface, but it would be better than no changes at all.

suggestion for skyhammer: explosives, i’m sure the asura have a demo team that can remove this feat of immense stupidity
and why the hell doesn’t that cannon make itself useful and shoot a dragon or 6????

Actually, apart from just throwing the map in the trash, the best idea I have heard is to make the edges/holes drop you to a lower level that will require some time to get back up from.

I still think it would be cheesy and favour completely brainless builds and gameplay, but better than rewarding non-skilled play with instant kills.
