I main engineer and dislike the map strongly. One change that would improve the map by allot is by making the cannon dodgeable.

Even on my Engi I feel like rage-quitting whenever skyhammer comes. Whatever entertainment is gained from killing people with knockback/pulls….it gets old very quickly and stops being fun.

But sadly I don’t think skyhammer is going anywhere. When ANet has openly seen the sheer volume of hatred for the map and they just shrug it off (by ignoring the topic and/or delaying)….nothing more can be done.

It’s going nowhere..it’s a place where causals can fully exploit bad designs and kitten builds on their favour…so it’s gonna stay forever..

Well you can still kill people on khylo, forest and temple through knockbacks… it’s just require more effort!

Effort isn’t really my thing. I like to get as many kills as possible without actually having to do much to earn them. Skyhammer is my favorite.

The map is toxic to the game itself. Out of every probably 25-30 games I see someone leave during the match in a soloQ game on any other map. On Skyhammer, it is almost every single game someone enters the game and says something along the lines of “Sorry I hate this map” and then leaves.

Then you hit tab, and notice out of 10 players, more than half are engi’s and you understand his reasoning.

You guys just aren’t representative of the masses that don’t use the forums and love Skyhammer.

there is no point giving feedback in this game dude, they will keep skyhammer, for some reason.

the only people who love skyhammer are trolls, sadists and masochists.
forum or not, you could take a vote in the mists for who would like skyhammer to be removed (either entirely or atleast put in a skyhammer only queue).
i’d bet the majority will voice the same hatred for suckhammer as you see on the forums

Until then, the forums are the masses, as are the 80% (the other 20% obviously being tired of voicing their opinion) of people in the skyhammer games I’m blessed to be in who vocally announce their hatred of it.

I’m still of the opinion that if we could simply load saved build templates we have tailored for different maps there would not be such outrage about skyhammer (or future maps with unique mechanics).

Just remove it from solo queue already and add a casual queue with no rankings instead of hotjoin with duo-trio(probably keep it at duo though!) with the map in it.

I wasn’t being serious. I just know I’ve seen such remarks from ANET in the past. I’ve heard enough reactions from solo q players when the map loads to know that almost everyone hates it. I’m sure ANet knows too if they play their own game. But I think they like to point to this map so they can say they have not neglected pvp while they continue to focus on their LS garbage.

Remove the map from solo queue but keep it for hot join. Same for spirit watch.

I would be happy if some less likable maps popped less often. Skyhammer once ever 10-20 matches instead of 5 in a row.

I explained it. Most professions have builds that are very well suited to skyhammer and make it fun to play… but there’s no easy way to swap. People running meta builds get embarrassed by people running (abusing they say) skyham builds and come here mad. If anet wants to keep giving us unique mechanics like hammer and the orb (there are some very nice orb carrying builds) then they are going to continue to see backlash until there is a solution.

The solution is people quit complaining and enjoy the game.
