Looks like hammer itself is moving (and its control console).
Looks like theres more ways up to the console? (the three arch things where the console used to placed-ish)
The breakable platforms look to be removed (the worst change in my opinion )

It sounds like they removed the ability knock of the edge to based on the “safe everywhere” comment. I’m bummed. Skyhammer was great for learning position awareness (or it was for me) and it was fun to be able to maneuver my opponent into a position where I could send them flying.

No I don’t typically vote for it, primarily because generally people are just too kitten stupid to understand how to play it. So I let others vote for it, and if I get it, well, more fun for me.
Considering people tend to congregate hammer and/or mid (oh that tunnel vision), as a super mobile thief, it should be easy mode decaps for you between A and C. =/
I would just have placed a plane beneath the skyhammer interaction spot that randomly disappears ~every 8 seconds.
Seems like most of the community disagreed with the 2 first posters based on the comment thread on Skyhammer a little while ago and amazingly ANET seems to have listened.
I wonder if they nerfed the skyhammer damage as suggested by many people (myself included) because whenever i had that map i would swap to DH and camp that hammer FTW. I hope they have since that map is boring as ****
Yes, those of us that liked, or at least didn’t mind Skyhammer, are few and far between. People typically prefer Spirit Watch over Skyhammer, if they have to pick between them. Personally, I hate Spirit Watch, but this goes back to people being stupid. shrug

Which is why it needed to go. Keeping a map that was disliked by a majority of players is not good for business. And Spirit Watch map choosers may be stupid to you but those same people are cursing you when you vote for hammer. The joys of people being different.
If the jumping pads are still there I don’t even. It would’ve been better to fix capricorn by removing the water and doing something with the boat than this hot mess of a map.
If the jump pads are still there, delete the map
If the ledges are still there and can’t be shadowstepped to, delete the map
If the points are still the size they are now with those drops, delete the map.
Sky hammer is an all round bad design, i dont even know how they can salvage it without practically creating a new map from scratch. Even in HJ it is a pain to deal with, a lot of people also tend to leave when the map pops. It would be better for everyone if the map was just gone.
Good. Make some changes to SW and Capricorn so we can have 7 competitive maps instead of 4.
Gets very frustrating when it feels like 50% of your matches are in Legacy and 40% in Forest. Fine maps, but I don’t mind the others and don’t want to see the same two maps almost all the time.

- Jump pads are gone
- The hammer portal under point B is now closed
- Apparently the portal will have 2 entry points maybe?
- Breakable glass is gone
- The holes here and there to the lower floor are still in place (maybe the new entrances to the hammer are on that lower floor?)
So far we have downed state for the Lord in foefire and a lot of improvements to Skyhammer: has Anet started to listen to players for real?
That’s cool. Me and most of the community hates Skyhammer the way it is.
I hope they don’t instantly add the new Skyhammer into the ranked queues, tho. Let us test and see if we like this new Skyhammer or not first.
After years Anet has finally listened. Skyhammer just might be a good competitive map now.
In regards to skyhammer damage, I don’t think its that bad now. Not too much different than a treb hit. I believe there was a time when you couldn’t even dodge skyhammer hits lol.
Now they should fix spirit watch and raid on Capricorn.
May as well point out a couple things some people may miss: 1.) Bottom Left breakable platform seems to be solid now. 2.) TWO portals (red/blue) leading to the new Cannon area, located just under cannon. 3.) Walkway above B seems to be expanded and now “curved”.

Probably because you didn’t play those maps in ranked when canon was undodgeable, platforms would disappear fast not to mention the orb in spirit watch still heavily favors classes with blocks, leaps etc. You also probably don’t play classes that rely on ports – you get “no valid path” error on 90% of the terrain there: try to use shadowstep to break stun? NOPE. Try to use steal to interrupt enemy? NOPE.

Skyhammer makes immob/stun/pull/push easy gimmick kills

dodges you say…. i spent all skyhammer games sitting in stealth and pulling players into holes – it is very boring and unenjoyable way to play, but it was effective – i do not miss it
Well maybe it’s interesting, we’ll see, but pls do something with matchmaking and not disable ranked for 1 month.

It’s Mike O, he seems to be taking player suggestions more seriously.
This map is so full of bugs you should have just built a new one from scratch.Teleport doesn’t work, you can build life force by hitting the floor, jump pads are very clunky. I even liked the idea of pulling ppl down for a hotjoin map(well, I know most ppl didn’t so the best place for it would be a mini game with preset push, pull and stealth skills) but now it is gonna be both uninteresting and bad. If I were arenanet, I’d do a lot of ingame polls to find out what the community really wants. If all the bugs I mentioned are fixed tho it could be good but I highly doubt it happened.
Edit: it turned out better than expected. Still haven’t tested it against all bugs but it seems decent.

God forbid you actually change up how you play. And so what if ports didn’t work, range still doesn’t completely work on all the maps (still get obstructed even when nothing in the way). Now this map will be just as boring to play on as the others. At least spirit watch (and temple) still have some interesting mechanics that can still sway the match.
They might as well just make maps that are completely flat with no terrain or any kind of interesting mechanics from what you guys say you want…

Please note my previous post where I state that I don’t vote for Skyhammer. I don’t vote for Spirit Watch either. I will always vote for whatever the other option is. Stupid people aren’t any “smarter” on Spirit Watch, so it may as well go too as it’s just as disliked.
Skyhammer was always a map that trolls would pick to spam knockback arrow.
The map has much more potential to be balanced now, I’m glad they made the change.
i hope Anet learn from this if we ever get more maps.

the best change for skyhammer would be to remove it from unranked and pretend it never existed.

let people make custom servers for it if they want.
