Ok there has been alot of complaints as to why the current system has flawed albiet its alot better and matchmaking overall is also alot better.

Those who have played know who the current system works. Lets grab a scenario from a team.

Player 1 & 2 have 2000 rating 3 & 4 about 1800 and players 5 is 1600 rating. Regardless of what the enemy has this situation has the following scenario.

Player 1 & 2 are automatically at a disadvantage because they have the least to gain by winning and the most to lose by winning. IN a win scenario player 1 & 2 will be lucky to gain 8 rating. Whereas player 5 will probably get 15+. In a lose scenario player 1 & 2 likely lose roughly 20 rating whereas player 5 will lose 8-9 rating.

Now some of you will think this is a good idea some wont. The probably this is creating is the following.

1. Its not allowing top players to get out of range of people doing their promotions to overleap them. (This is mainly in NA. EU top players are safely out of range). This is a scenario where a top player wins 5 games and loses 1 game he gains no rating.

2. Its reducing the skill gap between players in general since the system is automatically punishing higher rated players more.

While this is all fine to a certain extend it is happening to quite an extreme and needs to take into account that guild wars 2 playerbase isnt huge. A simple fix is the following.

1. Keep the system but reduce the penalties for being higher rating by 50%. This will allow top end players to get alot more rating up to 2400 – 2500 before they hit the same scenario.

2. This will also create a better skill gap between players and make it feel alot less punishing to player if you are already in the top 250. At the moment if you are borderline top 250 its almost not worth playing.

If Anet does this it will create a much better scenario where players will be inclined to play more rather that sitting on their promos.

Merry Christmas everyone. Show your support in this if you are truly a pvp fan. Even if you are bronze and you feel you are the highest rated one of your team you should be in support of this so you get punished less.

I agree in my opinion gaps should also be bigger. For us who mainly play for fun it is not enjoyable getting dragged in a lot higher ranked matches.

Well.. to complete the daily as a class win, you have to actually win

Well.. to complete the daily as a class win, you have to actually win
This doen’t make sense at all.

I ussualy just switch class when we have high lead and probably a lot of other players do the same. So that daily is quite flawed.

If people are willing to play a whole ranked game on a class they arent comfy on to have a chance for the daily thats their own rating they are risking also. I dont see a problem with it. If you are truly competitive you wont really care about it.

This is about tweaking the system to give better players more of a gap over worse ones. On the very low end of the ladder the lowest players will likely go down even more rating as well. It should simple create a bigger skill rating. ATM i think its from ~450 – 2200 on EU. This will make bottom end likely 200ish – 2500 I am hoping. Also it will boost top 250 from 1820 to hopefully 2000 about of placement reach forcing people to play.
