Guild Wars 2

Is this weekend….annnnd the pvp looks to be on a completely different level than GW2. B&S’s professions are well defined from each other. Their unique talents are truly unique. Also the combat is a little more fleshed out unlike in this game. So see you there pvpers! Good bye GW2 it was fun….Wait well kinda fun. You guys dropped the ball and never wanted to fix it. So bye.

This post reminds me of all those old threads about how Wildstar was going to kill off PvP. Except then Wildstar launched.

All games are amazing, perfect, and super innovative up until they have the misfortune of actually launching.

Things I like about B&S.
-Classes feel more balanced
-Almost NO passives
-You MUST dodge and use iframes to survive.
-Conditions (DoTs) are not out of control

Things I like about GW2
-Many different PvP modes ( i include WvW in this)
-Controls feel more fluid
-Weapon variety
-More content overall

I’ll continue to play both, but I see where you’re coming from. Most people are going to talk you down for making this post, but I wish you the best of luck. I’ve been holding my breath for 3 years and I feel silly for doing it. I’ve had a lot more fun playing GW2 when I accepted that the game will never be balanced and the Devs will continue to reinvent the wheel.

The main focus of Blade and Soul is PVP, and if its as good as it looks then PvPers will switch to a better experience. Also dont get it mixed up. I LOVE this game, but its a terrible relationship. I want GW2 to be something its not and never will be. And they want me to be the casual player I’ll never be.

Let come down vote and scream and yell. I dont care. Your points are spot on though. The combat feels slightly stiffer in B&S, thats due to the game being more of a fighter style combat. Im sure B&S will add more pvp modes.

I’m interested in it even if it’s f2p i would actually sink a few bucks if they do us right. It’s already an Esport game inthe asian market. So imagine how long it will take to be in NA.

It is a promising game & a serious contender to Gw2 HoT. But i’ll still play Gw2 unless they really drop the ball.

Oh! One big thing i forgot. Your dps is completely dependent on how low your ping is. Animation Canceling is huge. Since not everyone lives close to texas, I wonder if they will implement a solution to this.

There were several flagship games that came out since GW2 was released, all were supposed meant to blow GW2 PvP and other MMO games out of the water. They didn’t.

I’m not a sheep that follows the hype herd. I think I’ll switch over when the game comes out for NA and it’s legitimately better.

I doubt it will blow gw2 out of the water, but it is a far more balanced game that relies on ACTIVE ability use. So if that’s what someone is looking for, I’m sure they will enjoy playing it.

It is not a pvp focused game, it has PvP though. Well at least PvP is very easily avoidable, just don’t wear a faction outfit. With that said, it might be a good idea to actually play the game for an extended period before praising it. My memory might be bad, but when I played it, gear actually mattered. I mean your weapon and runes. The grind of which puts guild wars 2 to shame (but I was playing the chinese version, so i doubt the rng would be as bad).

Also if you want an easier time in open PvP play blademaster. But seriously, first play the game for an extended period of time before being praising the kitten game. also good luck leveling in that game, it is a kitten.

Being a E-sport in the Asian market (or really anything to do with performance in Asian markets) is largely meaningless with regards to how well it will perform on western markets, simply due to the massive cultural divide between Asia and Europe/NA.

A big example of this divide is the fact that western markets tend to revile pay2win monetization schemes. In Asian markets, pay2win is considered totally reasonable. They tend to be totally chill with grinding, and I’m talking extreme grinding that would be the death of any western game.

Another thing about Asian markets and E-sports is that over there they tend to be super competitive about everything. Compare that to EU/NA where the competitive portion of the market is very small, with the vast bulk of consumers being extremely casual.

I can guarantee that B&S will not be that popular, not because its bad, but because its really heavy on the action side, more than TERA, so having 140-150+ ping is a HUGE disvantage on the pvp, even on the most difficult PvE content there, and depending where the servers are even if you live on US you can get a ping this high imagine now who isnt in US? Its popular on asia because there its really easy to get ping under 15.

BnS is a 1v1 game; Outside of that it’s a kittenshow. Looks to fill its niche nicely, but doesn’t really offer anything outside of it.

Not gonna argue that point, but GW2 PvP isn’t exactly good either, is it? It is worse than at launch and all the passives introduced in this game rather drive pvp players away from it than attract it. They can drop in all the money they want, with the current balance and class design this game will never be true esports.

It is quite an irony that even the top players like Helseth and Levin state on stream that they rather only play the tournies and not more, because the game is more annoying than enjoyable.

Now I don’t think Black Desert will become anything close to E-sports, but people will play this game solely because of the char creator and graphics. When they do it right on EU and NA release they can definitely snatch off some players.

Only looked at a few youtube clips but it looked realy booring. GW2 and B&S seems to be two compleatly different games. B&S seems to be more like a fighting game with RPG elements where PvP are mostly 1vs1 but you can have a 3vs3 or openworld PvP. The graphics is wierd, girls look like porslin dolls or perfect bodies with lube all over and the enviroment looks is very N64 ish with open landscapes and fixed textures.

I am pretty sure that you will be back in a week when the expansion is released.
