Pro players aren’t as good as they think they are if they can’t win a 50/50 balanced match. This is what low MMR people are told if they struggle to get out of amber when they’re predicted to lose. So if you are pro and struggle to get out of amber in a 50/50 situation then you are probably where you are meant to be.

They got out of amber because they were matched against lesser opponents. that’s the point.

For the unsmarts last season was 50/50 and people complained pros struggled to get out of amber. So using the logic of this season it holds true for last season.

So we are rewarding the varsity for beating the modified.

You know that into Diamond and Legendary many PRO players got a win loose ratio of 50%?

The MMR Hell is true for all division, not just amber.

So basically, a soloq guy going to Legendary, will probably stop playing into Legendary if he got a trash MMR because loosing versus top team all night, is boring.

You don’t remember Abjured member’s video on YouTube after a few hours in amber resulting in this seasons system. Using this seasons philosophy they are an amber player. Once you start to struggle you’ve hit your “appropriate” level.

Who ever it was, I’m sure they got out of Amber. So your OP is incorrect.

It doesn’t matter they got out of amber. The philosophy of this season is once you start to struggle you’ve hit your appropriate division and anyone can climb higher by grinding it out.

you do not lose pip in amber, anyone is capable of getting out of it if grind enough

No, the people who are complaining are stuck in a division and are not advancing. That’s where they are being told they are leveling out to their true MMR. If you are advancing you aren’t leveling out. It’s a simple concept to digest.

And the universal theme of being told that you have reached your MMR isn’t struggling to get out of a division it’s that these people CAN’T get out.

What’s the point of this thread? It sounds like you’re either kitten because you couldn’t get out of amber and someone said that it means you belong there or your were trying to be funny and now that you realize it wasn’t funny you’re trying to make a logical argument out of absolutely nothing…

I drew a line in the sand because of the words that you wrote.

I’ve already said what this thread is for. My problem is i’m dealing with.. ( insert your own adjective)

If it’s irritating you then why did you start a thread you knew would get this type of response? Doesn’t make much sense to start something and then get upset when people respond in a way that doesn’t line up with your desires.

You mean saying something using logic and recieving a logical response. You’re right that would be an ideal situation and less irritating.

The problem last season was that the matches kind of were decided by who got less bad players in the team. This also leaded to the fact that bad players got massivly carried in higher divisions. You barely noticed any difference between ruby division and legendary division after a few weeks.

This season the matches in diamond/legendary division are so much harder in my opinion – simply because of the fact that a lot of people who aren’t that great can not get carried up to this divisions that fast.

Issue with divisions is everything can be grinded. Especially getting up to ruby, you’ll make it there if you spam enough games but that shouldn’t be the way it works imo. Unfortunately I’m not sure how to change the system besides letting people lose pips and tiers in all divisions not just after ruby. But maybe just that change would be enough to stop the divisions from being complete grind fests.

On that point, I question exactly how “low” the mmr is in the player population.

If some one is stuck in a losing cycle and their mmr is low and getting lower, would he not be playing with other low mmr players – or – the lowest mmr group of players that are currently on?

I’m pretty sure the low mmr bottleneck has been reached and there’s either not enough “low” players for them to get matched with, or they’re already matched with low mmr players but still losing these games.

My point is, there’s more of a team comp imbalance that’s skewing matchmaking rather than a mmr issue. I.e, stacked necros vs stacked dh, stacked mesmers vs stacked thieves, etc.

So remove class stacking from all queues, sure queue times will be longer for Fotm players but that’s the price they will have to pay for trying to exploit the power of a certain build. It will lessen the exaggeration of the imbalance of some builds because they won’t be able to be stacked and then you are more likely to see more balanced matches cause it’s not just a game of who can stack the most cancer.

So if you make the system fair you’ll make people progress to where they aren’t suppose to be quicker. And if you stack the decks against lower MMR players they will quit or get to where they aren’t supposed to be slower. Well basically it’s saying if you are a lower MMR you shouldn’t play.

I had about 30 game lose streak and now all the people who don’t know how to use their skills aren’t on my team I’m winning. I can imagine the outrage if that happened to a pro player. And this could still happen unfairly to anyone at any division. As Jourdelune pointed out. If you are at the top you are there off the sweat of other players. It’s a grind for everyone if it’s fair. So we are transfering our personal grind to everyone below our skill level or those with higher skill who happened to catch bad break. Like a pyramid scheme except everyone but those at the top lose.

The not losing 2 pips was my suggestion to Anet when they announced the new system because most of the time you lost 2 pips due to match fixing, afks and dcs. Making it an even bigger grind fest for everyone for circumstances beyond your control.

Do not lol. The logic in this thread holds true but I understand there’s an alternate reason in that it doesn’t result in unskilled people in legendary. My concern has been that lower mmr players quiting will have a negative effect on the game. And that skilled players will still suffer through sheer bad luck and that the lack of competitiveness of landslide wins.
