Q:

Will griefers be handled?

I’ve just been paired up with this one Dragon Hunter three times in a row, and he has gone afk each and every time, flaming all the way. He is literally afk, and flaming.

No, let me emphasize this again. He is sitting there, at his computer, typing and flaming, but simply standing still in base.

This is straight up griefing, so why is this allowed? The matchmaking system is already difficult enough to handle but to have griefers as well?

That’s the question of this post. Does reporting him even matter?

Reporting and blocking him doesn’t suddenly make him start playing.

And for some reason I keep getting paired up with him. I’ve stopped PvPing for now.

The main point is why are people allowed to get away with things like this?

They get away with it till support gets to the report. But the problem is, depending on how often the person plays, ANet could give them a 24 hour time out and they might never know.

A guy I knew got a time out for calling someone a noob on q dungeon run, and only found out he had a time out when he tried to log in and had an hour left, or so he claimed.

That sounds like a huge flaw in the system. Why have a punishment that goes by unnoticed?

They seem pretty content with giving out 6 month bans to people who botted, so why only 24 hours to people who purposely grief?

Sorry, it’s just frustrating to have to deal with this kind of people.

The time out probably reflects the “crime”. Calling someone a “noob” is not really that bad of a thing, when I’ve seem people going full caps lock rage with the F word as every other word in a sentence. It may also depend on the GM dealing with it.people have reported very different service from GM’s. From where one GM would flat out refuse to help, where another has fixed the same problem with no fuss.

The fact alone that there is not an SOP for reports – even after all these years – doesn’t speak well for Anet.

It.might not be anything to do with SOP, might be holes in training, people not realising what the can and cannot do. Everyone who has ever worked will know there’s at least that one guy you know and wonder “How do you still work here?”

Definitely a possibility. Then again, to have majority of the Mod staff be that guy doesn’t say much, either.

Also, there have been so many that have said to me – “qq.” You’re just mad and frustrated because you lost and you’re blaming it on others. Take a wake up pill – I’m sure, like so many others are, and so many others have said to me, that it must be your skill: i.e. – A good player should be able to carry an entire team, never mind one little afk’er.

Gee, are you complaining that your mmr is getting tanked cuz of others? I thought mmr was only reflective of a person’s individual skill level!

Don’t tell me you actually lost games because of a teammate who didn’t give his/her all – I.e. a flamer/afker/griefer – and you couldn’t carry the game to victory? If you did win, what are you complaining about? If you lost, and you believe it was due to an afker/griefer, why do you expect this situation to be corrected simply because you are frustrated by it, when so many peoples’ complaints of getting stuck in tiers due to losing streaks caused by the behaviors of others falls on deaf ears and is summarily dismissed by smug “higher skilled” players?

My point exactly. When the “elite” have an issue, THEN it’s an issue. The people who somehow have been struck with low mmr from the beginning (more so because they played from day 1 of S2 and have been getting crushed by pre’s since the beginning) only suck. it’s that simple, they suck. It has nothing to do with 5 lower mmr players being matched against 5 higher mmr players. But the “elites” say “if you are that good you can carry your team….” blah blah blah, i hope GW2 kittening blows up and doesnt’t exist anymore.

People are so salty that they are being kittens.

@OP: As said you can report as bot, however if that person is heavily offending the players continually, can always try to reach for the GM Delicious Intent.5928 with the exact time, screenshots or video of said act.

They likely do not have their ticketing system setup for the right person. If it’s technical lets assume it goes to a technical person, etc, etc. But technical support, etc, doesnt fall under https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/ or https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-user-agreement/.

My point is that these issues should have their own particular category when reporting and not trying to figure out which almost seemingly ambiguous selection to make. This practice is not for the benefit of the user.
