“Corralll!”
So about this celestial amulet...
“Corralll!”
Its the way Anet intended it to be eSport – everyone running the same builds on the same amulet. Then all that matter is player skill and tactics. Keep in mind that celestial was added to pvp by Anet.

Then remove all other amulets?
“Corralll!”
First, roll the celestial ammy yourself and they will kill you just as fast. Second, I alsowatch the tourney and I dare say zerker thief-mes duo has some success against celestial ammy. Third, celestial shines when the fight is held longer and zerker works best when you can burst opponents fast. As a matter of kill and stomp then wouldn’t it be in the zerker’s favor? Finally, I am sorry to say but it’s a player’s skill issue when it comes to winning or losing a brawl.

P.S. You can roll a turret engi with Sentinel ammy if Cele is too hard to handle.

::yawn:::
cele engi main, put on the shelf because it’s cheese. Skill? True skill would be no amulets used and then brawl. Cele shines is ALL scenarios and there’s no risk vs. high reward. Sure you lose a bit of power and dmg output, but current meta is all about sustain and condi pressure. Again, letting AI and RNG determine dmg output.
So you sit back, survive longer, heal better, and let your conditions do the work for you.

Considering the big picture, meta build means :biggest output=smallest input.
We all know the three classes currently dominating the zerker meta : thief -mesmer and med guardian. This means that three builds/classes will give the best results for the least amount of efforts from the player
Out of all 3, med guardian is the one with the “best” biggest output=smallest input relation.
In a 2vs2 scenario against a med guardian if you try to run a zerker spec that is not thief ,mesmer or another med guardian..will result in a net defeat most times than not.
And this because of the huge sustain of med guardian respect to all other zerk specs in the game

“because of the huge sustain of med guardian”
wut??
My med guard is WAY glassy compared to my cele engi…

This is the whole sentence
Well, first of all, celestial being noob friendly is not an argument. Ranger, warrior and guardian are also noob friendly, and some builds are meant to be more difficult than others, that’s the deal. I like to play zerker builds, and I know that sometimes, my opponents will have to put in less effort to win. If you don’t feel you’re good enough to play zerker, play celestial or condi, it’s as simple as that.
Secondly, I’m not sure the berserker amulet is the best choice in a 2v2 situation. Unless you’re a thief/mesmer team with an amazing opening burst, you’ll loose because your survivability is not good in long fights. Berzerker builds shine in conquest, where you can take your opponents by surprise and burst them down, in 1v1, because your target will be forced to use his own defensive abilities instead of being healed by his team mate, or in WvW, because you can kill people in 0.5s there. Bring the right builds at the right fights.

Well, let’s just add that if your zerker spec is a thief, you’ll die. And zerker eles have every tools they need to kill a media guard.
I’m not sure I understood correctly what you said about effectiveness. Because in terms of effort, thief and mesmer takes a lot more than for example zerker ranger or necro. So I would say that outside of the top teams, power rangers and power necros can bring nearly as much as thief and mesmer, because the weaknesses of these builds, that make them nearly unplayed in major tournaments, are compensated by the fact that they are easier to play. Of course, the advantage switches from ranger/necro to thief/mesmer the higher you go on the MMR scale.
Medi guard, naturally, being relatively easy to play and effective, shines at every level of play.
So last night a guildie and I jumped in Aspect Gaming’s (tyvmbtw) 2v2 weekly tourney.
In ESL weekly tourney cele amulet is banned in 2v2.
Bring the right builds at the right fights.
I think I stipulated that in my opening, but yes, prior to last night I had never done any sort of 2v2. I just took whatever build I was running, which happened to be the med, GS variant guard ( I even suggested at least rolling hammer/sf but guildie said just roll with it).
But I wanted to see how zerker stacked up against Cele in a concentrated environment, and hands down Cele beat Zerker.
“Corralll!”
Ehm, OP played shoutbow with zerker ammy and complained about getting rolled by Cele classes. It says a lot about his perception on skills. Surely, cele is noob friendly but it doesn’t necessarily carry bad players. Meanwhile, wearing zerker doesn’t mean you automatically become that cool hipster. In a 1v1 or 2v2, you miss your burst/dodge/block, then you get outplayed.

interesting. Do you know what caused them to make this call?

In 2v2 strictly. In 1v1, it depends.
1vs1 zerker thief > all cele builds
If you think you got beat because of someone’s amulet, then you’ve got a lot to learn about PvP.
I’ve stayed at this party entirely too long
How bout that zerker shoutbow though? Medi Guard+Shoutbow is a really strong 2v2, sounds like a player skill issue.
I’m not coming back, not that you care.
1vs1 zerker thief > all cele builds
You can’t win against an engineer of similar skill on a thief.
why didnt you go 1 zerk with 1 bunker support? Like guardian with staff for might and zerk warrior with stances?
Or power necro with d/d ele, you ran in there with 5 vs 5 builds and calling the ammy easy proof when really by your own admission you didnt do your homework for 2 vs 2
Keep in mind that celestial was added to pvp by Anet.
It wasn’t added, it was buffed.

Because the cele users weren’t using meta conquest builds? /derp

Shoutbow Warrior
Medi Guard GS variant (me)We both rolled Zerkers…
You don’t think it is even slightly ironic that you are complaining about celestial being “noob friendly cheese” when the two builds you were playing are “noob friendly cheese”?

Mediguard isn’t a celestial build.

Erm I didn’t say it was, maybe try reading it again.
Ah, ya, I see where I misread.
Though I honestly don’t think mediguard is “noob friendly cheese”. It is easy for people to pick up. But you see huge gaps in skill from the very good guardians to people who are just picking it up.
