This is a game, not Thunderdome. Why should people be forced to play specific classes just to enjoy what they paid for?
Play to win, or you will lose. Which part confuses you?
I say we just remove necros, rangers, eles, warriors and engis from the game.
Then we can all play to win in a balanced game!

Honestly, I don’t see any huge imbalances at the moment. Just various different builds that seem op at first glance. 2 Weeks ago just about everyone in sPvP was running glass cannon builds. Now I’ve seen tank builds become increasingly popular making life a lot harder for classes like Thieves that typically fair very well vs. other glass cannons.
As far as I see it there are two tiers in PvP currently. The “good” classes (Guardian, Mesmer and Thief) and the “average” classes (Ranger, Necromancer, Elementalist). Engineers and Warriors are somewhere between good and average, depending on players and build.
At least that’s my take on it.

When you talk about class balance there are two different things you can be talking about.
1) Power balance
2) Build balance
Right now there are a few Prof that just don’t have very many viable builds, while other Prof have tons.
It is very possible that some of the “OP” Prof’s are only “OP” because their counter is broken, or currently not working correctly. Lets take the Necro. For all we know its the Counter to Mesmer Phantasms, But because of all the bugs this build does not work (not saying it is or is not, it was just an example).
As the Prof’s get fixed and adjusted and more builds become possible the more options the player will have to adjust and counter, and the better picture we will have on what is truly “OP” and what is not.

Classes will seesaw between balanced, OP, and UP all the time, just like in every game ever. Spamming up the forums about it all the time when it doesn’t disadvantage you in any way because you can simply roll whatever comp you think is strongest on the day, that’s not contributing.
Unless you can’t pass the tutorial.

If you paid to enjoy sPvP, and wanted to be competitive, then you would be willing to roll whatever your team needs. If you don’t have fun playing the class you want, you are in the wrong.
The game is perfectly balanced
1) pick your classes quickness skill
2) Tie quickness skill to a slow high damage attack
3) If possible included a stun or snare with your combo
4) Use combo to kitten all over one player
5) Switch to ranged attack until quickness is back up
6) Repeat
Makes sense right. I mean it’s fun to kitten all over people with a broken ability every two minutes? That’s why we all paid 60 bucks for right? To get kitten on by a skill even a kitten monkey could see wasn’t a good idea.
