So burn stacking...
The only real issue is burn stacks from dd eles. Since they have both sustain and those burn stacks. Burns from guards and engis are managable since they lack that sustain. They are glassy and very susceptible for counters if their “condi burst” fails.
Won’t be much of an issue when HoT drops because Druid, Scrapper and maybe a Shoutbow on a team will just RIP condi specs…. Hopefully
Irronicly i actually take more burn damage now from d/d eles. i could avoid getting RoF burns in 1v1, almost never crossed it. But now i get 2 extra unavoidable stacks. Drake is the same, if i eat a full drake and dont have condi clear im pretty much dead just as before. if i have condi clear i will use it. the extra 1/2s never really comes into play. Even non-cleansed its a minimal decrease in dmg. In the end i take more burn dmg post-patch.
The buff to ring of fire was absolutely not needed. pre patch it was strong because of the bug and in teamfights. They could have just fixed the multi-trigger bug. The bug is still there afaik but it hurts less no. But if you are not affected by it RoF does a lot more dmg now.
After all we went through we end up with a same (even buffed in some cases) ele. At least the first day of pvp was fun. Tons of people rushing in to try new builds, short queue times and you didnt get more then 2-3 d/d eles per match. But give it 3 days for everyone to realize nothing changed in the meta and we back on 4-ele balanced train.
Hope the devs see just how excited people where for the ele meta to change. I cant remember the last time a patch brought so much excitment (crashing servers and 5 second queues). And it was a mini balance patch with no additional content. Its a shame this one changes nothing.
Better luck next patch whenever it may come, hope the balance team finds the time to work on the ele
The issue is, and has always been, burn stacking. ANET makes a ton of balance changes but misses the most important one. Get it fixed already.
