Apart from at the start of a match where the Necro gets eaten alive because it still doesn’t start with any deathshroud and everyones running power builds to chomp through their HP bar in seconds.

I played viper rev with traveler runes.. no issues without cheese durability.
Necro and thief buffs are more than enough to delete rev from meta tho.
Playing Smite since mid s2, f broken gw2.
I don’t think Revenant is ready enough to become viable in its current state, unless you’re trying to secure your own spot, its a good way to go. although its one of their main pve selling point maybe another quarter or a whole year to achieve balance on this class/profession.
Between a master and apprentice, i would love to see the differences.
Most revs will be eaten by thieves. I already reliably kill them on old fashioned dp thief. Can’t say much about Pro League though since there is a lot of teamplay involved.

The last time I checked there were more then 5 classes what if you don’t have a reaper? Thats the problem with hard counters there bad. We need a game where you can run mostly whatever you want class wise and have a chance at countering just about anything. Otherwise the game is a gigantic failure. This game has always been a joke diversity wise when it comes to builds. You can’t have it where any class is needed over any other or we might as well just cut the number of classes available to pvp with to five.

Anet don’t like to nerf REV because it’s their STAPLE for HoT.
So they prefer to DELETE 30% of their “vanilla” game to balanced it.
Actually, you are right REV condi put more burst condis than engi condi or anything condi classes… to the point they need to BUFF condi necro to make them “viable” for the same slot on the group.
REV need more nerf.

If you nerf an OP class or buff an underpowered class things become balanced so instead of rev being pushed out of the meta (if anything staff with sigil of transference and mender’s amulet will increase build diversity by making Ventari somewhat competitive) there’ll be more options, including rev. The facet of light change however may kill power rev outside of organized teamspeak comps at higher levels.

It’s not really a situation of just having 1 hard counter though:
1) Reapers – ofc
2) Thieves – as mentioned
3) Warriors – With them getting buffed, this is another heavy burst class with a lot of CC
4) Scepter eles? – It’s possible the changes will bring this back.
5) Longbow Rangers? – Another build that may return, which would be a hard counter.
And beyond that, let’s also take a step back. One of the biggest boosts to condi rev is the heavy boon strip. This is amazing right now because boon strip is clutch to working in a bunker meta. However, there’s big nerf coming to bunkers overall, there may not be as much of a reason to bring a mallyx rev in the first place. =P
This is honestly what I’m worried about. Demon stance rev is the most broken build in the game and will continue to be post patch. The Necro changes are an exaggeration. Corrupt boon is just a more offensive version of a traited signet, and third AA on scepter is hardly ever used. For people to get that attack off on opponents would have to sacrifice using other more impactful skills. Chill damage is too strong, however. Condi rev still have their inherent defensive abilities and maintain their mental condi damage output. If a condi rev is near a downed body their is literally 0 chance of getting a rezz off once quickness rezzing is gone.
