So why should I PvP?
To get better and for enjoyment.
The reason there is no real tangible power orientated reward is because such a thing would break the balance of PvP. One only has to go and look at the history of legendaries in wow to see just how hideously they smashed any resemblance of balance.
It’s fun and it’s competitive. Take a first person shooter for example. Once you get all of the cool guns, you still enjoy playing, and killing noobs with your level of experience is entertaining as well.
The only “reward” you get are ranking levels and cosmetic armor. You could make it a goal for yourself to craft a variety of different things at the PvP forge. Stuff like that.

Can those looks and items be used in PvE? (Cosmetic that is). The biggest issue is how seperated PvP, and PvE is, and I’m not talking about power of items. Do I have to be red/blue every match?
It’s not pve. Most pvpers I know, enjoy the competition, the reward is winning or losing. Self gratification is rewarding.

iirc, they said they’ll add in an option to turn off the red/blue coloring… i’m guessing just for your character, so, you’re not red/blue, but the enemies still are.
I can’t speak to transmuting armor skins, but I know you can get 8+ slot bags you can use in pve. I’ve gotten 2 of the 10 slot ones from rank 10 chests and they’ve been useful. But you’ve mostly understood all there is to know about pve vs pvp: it’s separate and for the sole purpose of skill-based (not gear based) competitive combat.

The SPVP in GW2 is separate PVE completely, that should be asked the same question to people who play LoL, DoTA, HoN, and TF2, why they enjoy to play these games over and over again just to get Cosmetic items to use only in PVP games, and that happen the same thing in GW2’s SPVP. That’s why I love how ANet separate PVP and PVE. The only thing that I concern is the auto dye red/blue issue which replace my dye gears color in every match, if ANet allow players to customize their dye in the match, the SPVP system in GW2 will be perfect for me.
Anet still need to fix things up. But for the content the game has, I am very happy with it.
I am more a PvP player because of the value involved in it.
-Never Give up, until you got nothing left.
-Improve your Build, so when there is a real challenge you can face it.
-Help others, you win as a team you lose as a team.
-Play the objectives, you don’t get point for dying at some useless place.
-Be smart, your opponent is smarter than you think.
I could go for alot more tips like this but I think you get my point of view.
