In the SoTG, the developers had said that eles are susceptible to their healing chain being broken and if that happens they can be brought down.

I don’t play an ele, but I know they go into water/earth to heal/protect themselves. What were the developers referring to when they said that once you interrupt their rhythm, they die?

If you catch them with water attunement on CD, they lose a lot of survivability.

Force them into water with your regular skills. Most fotm eles will use it even if you dont force it, just because it’s not in CD so let’s use it.
When water is in CD pop your dps combo and/or conditions

Coordinate with your team to know which ele has used mist form and when. If he has used mist form then focus him and usually you can burst him down. Dont bother focussing an ele who hasnt used mist form above other priority targets.

Most eles will go into mist form and water at the same time. Then into air to rtl away. If you can immob them just after they have been in water you can also kill them.

The key is mist form though. It is so op that focussing an ele who hasnt already used it is a waste of burst in a team fight. Once he has used mist form though he is obviously very killable to focussed attacks.

Eles are a lot less scary in large team fights than in small scale, IMO. When their CC hits the entirety of your team fighting at a point it becomes a far, far better class than when it only hits one out of four.

The most effective way of burstin an ele is a combination of poison and patience. Poison seriously hampers their ability to sustain themselves in water and other attunements. Patience is needed because of their three stun breaks, usually one of which is an invuln, one of which is a teleport. Also, burst classes have serious difficulty breaking through their 5 or 6 seconds of protection on earth attunement, so be very careful not to waste your burst in that fashion.

But like I said, eles aren’t as scary in team fights and can be bursted down like most other classes if you catch them good enough. That, to me, is their major weakness. Their damage will more than likely be subpar in comparison to other classes, if not, they’ll die super quick.

You are correct, pretty significant team protection up time. Plus regen. Meh.
