Solo queue and new game modes
I agree and will do the same. Just to boring to stick around.
Still think solo queue is dumb.
It’s necessity is a byproduct of the hot-join system being undeveloped and players wanting to pretend it’s inherently more competitive than hot-join despite lacking any barrier limiting it’s competition. All solo queue is, is random arena’s pretending it’s better than Random arena’s.
Though I don’t understand the seperation critique. Weren’t they planning to create Custom Arena’s which is just an addition option of the exact same game on top of Hot-join, free’s, paids and now 2 team ranked? Getting ridiculous, you don’t need this many variations of the exact same thing.

I totally agree, They are talking far to long to add anything to PvP. I mean i dont expect to have new maps every week or anything but its been like 6months and we have had ONE map added and no new modes or anything (which should have been added in the release)
Adding new maps wont fix the lack of PvP Competitions…..maps are not the solution.

I didnt say it was the solution to the whole issue. Part of the issue is the fact of playing the same few maps for so long it gets VERY boring
Agreed.
The two major failings of sPvP:
1) Premades vs pugs
2) Charging casuals micro-transactions in order to LTP at a competitive level and ultimately charging people money for losing to teams that play 10 hours a day.
Now we have no population despite what the Devs keep saying and we see the results which is a MMR that makes the same two teams face each other for 6 hours because there is no competition.
Agreed.

Funny how Jonathan Peters claims that pvp population is increasing, the falls silent when that US player said they play against same team for hours every day.

lol. premades vs pugs is not a fail by anet or their design by any means… that’s your fail. if you are not serious about winning and just want to throw together a bunch of noobs to play paid tournaments, of course you’re going to get your kitten kicked by people much more organized and serious than you.
if you’re not going to put in the time to find serious players, create a group or team of friends that you can win with, then you simply don’t deserve to win. keep playing in hot join.

That could be because of the fact that there are no other teams with the same rating as those guys, which means that the system puts them together. Doesn’t however mean that the overall population of pvp players is low, but rather indicates that the number of high ranked pvp teams is low.

There is only two teams with same rating in the entire NA ? what kind of rating is that? talking about fracturing pvp community ( solo queues, hint, hint).

Cool. Just understand that you and your buds who pub-stomp, and feel the lack of features for even-play for solo players is fine, are the minority.
You won’t have many players to play against in the future if the features people want for solo/even play are not implemented.

Oh look another forum tough guy who thinks blaming players for not being ‘hardcore’ enough is a smart way to design a successful competitive PvP game.
Stomping Pugs or noob teams over and over again is not exactly exciting for the hardcore players either.

right… and the problem is there is not enough hardcore players.. and i wouldn’t even call it hardcore.. i’d call it.. “competitive”.
game needs more incentive to bring the competitive players back to the game or to make existing players want to be more competitive.
don’t talk about pugging and competition in the same light…
even in league of legends.. you solo queue just to show that you’re competent, then you join a team to move on to the real deal.
in this game, there are free tournaments where you can pug, and paid, where it requires a team. plain and simple bro.
@ Oni: Not your fault, we talked about so many things, and I didn’t explain it well.
I’m watching all the threads right now about solo q.
Keep these threads going, they ARE watching and NOTHING is going to change unless everyone unifies and makes sure this actually happens.

I should have said solos vs premades.
By pug I am referring to people who queue up solo and get placed in a random team then face highly experienced premade teams.
The way to create incentive for competitive play is to allow solo players vs solo players so that people actually have a legitimately even playing field where a player can build up his personal skill.

This! Thank you.
