Solo queue win/loose streaks?

Solo queue win/loose streaks?

I am just curious, perhaps someone is aware of some trends in the matchmaking system. My solo queue win ratio is positive and close to 50%, so I guess ELO system is working as intended (it always “tries” to give all players a “perfect” 50% win ratio). Sometimes I win, sometimes I loose, I am an average player with an average rating and mid-high rank. Yet on some days something very strange happens. I get those streaks. Maybe win streaks sometimes but loosing streaks are particulary painful and so I remember them better.

Today I got my “record” as I lost 12 solo queue matches in a row until I got my 1st win. According to simple probability math, the odds of loosing 12 matches in a row with properly working ELO system is 0,000244 which is 0,02% or 1 chance per 5000 attempts. I just refuse to believe that this is some sort of blind luck getting such chances. So, is there is are there any “of the chart” rules which apply to GW2 queue system? Like for example in WoW being a part of a certain faction and/or certain battlegroup can bend your win ratigs. So maybe in GW2 something funny tends to happen on weekend evenings or other things like that? In the long run the win/loose ratio balances out I guess. But I am curious is there any factor in GW2 PvP which may create those crazy awesome/lame streaks like the one mentioned?

It does look a bit fishy to me, I never had such streaks while playing LoL for example. Having same result for 5 consecutive matches in LoL blind pick would be already extreme (but chances for that are like 3% which means it can happen rarely), yet alone 12.
