I’m reading a lot of forum threads where people complain about soloqueue problems. I think would be usefull a unique thread where we can analyze main soloqueue problems and suggest to anet any good solutions. Imho Soloqueue now has 3 big problems: leavers, sync ad people conquest experience.
Leavers: no one like to play 4 (or less) vs 5, you have almost 0 chance to win (sometimes it happens but it’s very rare) and you lose rank and match because people left the match. I see only two ways to solve this problem: a replacement system or you play , probably you lose the match but your rank stays the same and match doesn’t figure like a loss in leaderboard . The leaver get dishnorable, rank decrease and loss in the leaderboard.
Sync: another big problem, because this is a soloqueue, this means that you can’t join with your friends and if you sync the match with other people, basically it’s a team match vs soloqueue. How to solve this? Many people gave good advices, i like the idea to create a pool players with similar mmr when people click on soloqueue button and to not put them immediatly in the same team but shake them random. It’s better a queue that starts with some seconds late instead of an unbalanced match. I think can happen that two or more players with the same mmr (or very similar) stay in the same team, but if this stuff happens many times in a row, there is some problem.
Conquest experience: we have another big problem, many people play soloqueue like hot join, and this is not good to understand GW2 conquest mode potential. Veteran people can give good advices but i think Anet need to do better in this area, show to players how they need to play. I think people need to know well what happen during the game, so many things can help in this way: better mini map, macro text commands, voice chat ingame, better advises (pre match and during the match) more other stuff. These are very important stuff for spectator mode too, people need to understand what’s happening during the game, on node and on other nodes. And it’s very important that people care about winning or loosing in rate match, so pvp elo rewards linked are very important.
I see these are the main gw2 soloqeue problems (after we have balance problems, op build etc.) but i think if anet solved these problems, soloqueue (and the game in general) would be really better.
