[5/8 Champion Titles – Legendary Division] [19k+ AP]
[BEER – Dungeon Riders – Desolation]
Dear ArenaNet
I don´t know how you think about it but i don´t really care that much about rewards.
Thats not the reason i keep playing.
The only thing i care about is a good matchup.
And it´s lacking …
Please improve this area of the game.
I really hope you can implement a better filter for the matchmaking soon. This will improve soloq by a lot.
What are the thoughts from the pvp community on this topic?
With best regards,
Shino
How about a better shuffle too. Played with and against the same people in the same teams for how many consecutive matches.
The number of PvPers playing concurrently in the whole of the GW2 gamer population cannot possibly be that bad that I am matched with the same people over and over again, regardless of rating or whatsoever.
I think limiting profession stacking would be good but it shouldn’t be too strict. Max two of each armor class is extremely tight—a lot of teams would get exactly two heavies, two mediums, and one light armor. That’s not much room for variation.
I don’t think the problem is so much with the starting rank of new players, but perhaps Glicko2 is a bit too confident for a game with so many variables. I’d rather see new players start in the current place but rise through the ranks more slowly.
Completely agree about manual ready-check.
Edit: forgot one complication about profession stacking. Certain maps favor certain builds, and if you couldn’t change, that could be frustrating. For example, if skyhammer pops and you can’t change your profession, it could potentially be a problem.

Removing class stacking is not feasible imo without increasing queue times significantly and probably harming the matchmaking function. What if to prevent a class stack the game had to grab a player 500-1000 spots down in the ranking then the player that would have caused the stack? Or are we going to force people to not play what they want to? Never mind the fact that if A-net balanced right class stacking wouldn’t really matter what would matter is having the role each person is playing be complementary. Class stacking should be largely a negative the fact that it isn’t is A-nets fault.
