SoloQ Spreadsheet (EU)
Interesting data, nice work!
What is actually pretty fun to see, is that Engineer and Elementalist is obviously the top used professions atm.
Why is that obvious? Because they are easily the strongest professions right now.

I’m a bit surprised at Ranger being the least played profession in your data.
From personal experience I’d say I see Thief and Rangers the most in PvP, followed by Engi’s, Ele’s and Guardians.
Just to know: OP, what’s your leaderboard rank?
Knowing your rank can help us understand the data better and could let us infer more about players preferences at high-medium-low rank.

Class popularity depends on leaderboard placement too.

Fluctating ~50 most of the time with occasional drops on lose streaks.
what would be most interesting data is the winrate per class to see which class is ‘best’
interesting data tho ArenaNet should make an API for data like this so developers like me can make more of this
Btw: It’s Sey-Shi-zo ^.^
That pretty much mirrors my experience on NA.

Very interesting but i’m curious if viewing win rates for a certain class necessarily mean that is a ‘superior’ class, per se.
Much like a two sided coin. A spread sheet can show the statistics for X amount of coin tosses. One side can be higher even though it’s suppose to be 50% for either side to come up.
Unless we measure the win rate for every single class in the top 1000 ranks would there be a realistic ‘odds’ for that class…. this game has never been measured on individual skill. Because mmr is calculated on game wins, I’m not even sure if you can successfully measuring a classes ‘odds of winning’.
Different competition, such kitten engi’s on a team vs 5 rangers would greatly change the odds. This game is very balances but not nearly balanced enough for this to be near 50%. I imagine there’d be a very high standard deviation in team oriented games.
Teams are vastly different from each other, from classes to strategies to skill level. The standard deviation will always be high.
I’m sure Anet is already viewing these statistics for every single person. If it was released people would misinterpret the data and think that class X would be the right way to go.
Then again, the data could be so skewed that a certain team comp’s odds of winning’ really is high because of an imbalance issue.
If that makes sense…
Rank: Top 250 since Season 2
#5 best gerdien in wurld
This data looks pretty normal to me, definitely see more Engies than any other profession in Solo queue. I’d assume that it’s because of the extreme intricacy and difficulty of Engineer gameplay that draws so many Solo queue players to this class.

lol. I see what you did there!

Evan mentioned they will have more statistics when the ‘rewrite’ will go live. I hope they will be able to produce similar reports in the future, it would be interesting.
Interesting data. Especially the divide between professions, Ele’s and Engi’s seem indeed the strongest.
Based on this list:
Class Winrate
G 50.63 %
W 51.67 %
E 48.15 %
M 51.43 %
N 50 %
En 48.97 %
T 48.08 %
R 58.06 %
Winrate of the Engi might be low cus the one that made this list plays engi
Btw: It’s Sey-Shi-zo ^.^
^I’m curious about how you calculated that. If there is a match with 2 wars vs 3 wars and the 2 wars win did you then put the win % for warrior 40%?
I put the classes we queued up with in the spreadsheet aswell btw.
45 engi, 20 war, 26 thief, 1 guard.
Also
ArenaNet should make an API for data like this so developers like me can make more of this
Please let this happen Anet.
(Wins/NumOfGames)*100
so ya if 1 game would have 2warriors other side 3 warriors and the 2 warriors would have won it would be
(2/5)*100 = 40%
(and i made a little script that could get that from the text so i don’t have to analyze the data myself)
Btw: It’s Sey-Shi-zo ^.^
game 9 additionel info =1 ragequit (“this team sucks”)
hahaha made my day
