SoloQ @ Sunday anyone noticed the same?
This!
I had a severe losing streak yesterday (saturday). I havent played pvp in ages on weekends for that very reason and for once i was gonna yoloq again on a saturday. Big mistake…
Havent had a losing streak like that in like…2 years, the players that was put in my team were pure pve’ers for sure.
Weekends/weekdays user base are different. Weekdays players often have no obligation (gf/job) in life, so they are more dedicated. Weekends players spend much less time in the game.
It’s not only weekends vs weekdays, day/night also have different players. Pick the time that works for you.
Already quit PvP. Just log in here and there to troll.
Yep. I stupidly forgot it was Saturday…

Like every Sunday at solo q the matchmaking system puts me in a team with peoples that can’t kill anyone and somehow dies faster than me as a focused necromancer. so i lose most of my matches on Sunday. Enemy team gets a lot more skilled players every game that support each other while i left alone most of the time. They interrupt cc skills and revives. also revives their allies in a second that i hardly killed. My teams not doing the same.
My question is why this happening and its only me? Why the system don’t put me sometimes with players that have some skills and good at assisting/ teamplay.
On Weekdays my win rate start to increase and usually get me to Diamond t2 or t3.
Dude, EXACTLY this is happening to me … i mean, 100% exactly the same. Yesterday, all matches i played, i got 2 mesmer + 2 power ranger combos against 2x DH 2x reaper and rev. We were absolutely not able to deliver any dmg, while all of my teammates getting WRECKED in middle in matter of miliseconds. I am also playing necromancer.
For every game this happens to you, someone else is experiencing the opposite. Perhaps your MMR is higher than your league rank so the system compensates by giving you worse players. Are you a veteran of the game, by any chance?

Haha I think that’s happening to me when I soloq on my other account now that it hit ruby.

I have slower than usual internet Sunday :-S
I had many match Sunday, eventually, I managed to make 3 pips in all day, solo queue….
Yesterday i had my first 5 loss-streak EVER. Heck, its the first time i lose more than 2 times in a row! Was absolutely HORRIBLE. First 3 teams were premade diamonds (vs all soloQ ruby with some bad diamond players), last 2 teams had no functioning braincells left, didnt listen to tactics/suggestions and were utter failures, again enemy always had at least 2 people queueing together.
Never want to pvp on Sundays again
I like sunday pvp. Gained 5 Pips yesterday from duo queue with a friend. And 7 from solo queue.

The system needs refinement since that shouldn’t be happening in a skill based league system. Some of my solutions would work, like matchmaking the best together against the worst within the same league so the pros get a smooth pass to the league they belong on. If you’re the GW2 equivalent of a gold player you’ll be in ruby, but the platinum and diamond (diamond and legendary) players will beat you, then your win/loss will return to normal as you face only other golds/rubies. It would be a trickle down effect: similar MMR players get paired up against weaker (or stronger) opponents but they rank out eventually making leagues and MMR correlate very strongly.
With loophole abuse closed you will no longer see legendary caliber players stuck in diamond or even need to queue with weaker players. After proper balancing (tons of metrics should be in now) PvP’s reputation will gradually improve leading more people to play it. Badges help of course (one of the best things about this season) since the cool kids will all be sporting diamond and legendary tags and it gives something to aspire to.
I thought I was just crazy, but I’m glad I found this post!
Yesterday was the first Sunday that I’ve jumped into PvP because usually I’m doing other things, either in real life or PvE related. Sure enough though… It was a mess.
Not every game was filled with the terrible players, but I’d say it was a mixed bag. There was about four games in a row I remember distinctly last night that I got these guys and one of the games pushed me mentally.
To give an example of the nonsense people were pulling was 3 people on our team decided to cap home in a game of Niflhel and Foefire. Sure enough, enemy split up, overpowered me and one other mid, and proceeded to dominate the game. We couldn’t push out because they were dying quickly left and right, standing in DH traps, ect. Upon further inspection, the guys on my team seemed to be running PvE related builds.
Probably won’t ever PvP on a Sunday again. I can’t take it.

I finally popped back into pvp this past weekend.
Tried a bit Saturday night, got rofl-stomped into oblivion.
Tried again yesterday. Played pretty much all day, noticed an interesting pattern. Win 3, Lose 1. Repeat. Thought was just coincidence at first, but nope, it persisted even after swapping to a class I rarely ever play and I’m really not very good at (because I haven’t spent much time with it). Persisted after swapping to yet a third class to play on. 3 wins, 1 loss, repeat. Without fail. I laughed myself silly.
I guess on the upside I went from 0 progress in the pvp league thing to T3 Emerald…in about 8 or so hours. shrug That’s a freaking miracle for me.
Had a page with 1 win on Sunday. I was 10 pips off diamond before. (
Weekend yoloq is literally the worst thing ever….so many times would my team manage to get the lead and get up 200 points only to somehow fall apart. This happened all day yesterday bahah
I played one match (forest map)…..asked in team chat, “So should we go one home, the rest mid and after that i’ll get beast? I can cap home if no one wants?”
No reply….Match starts.
I go cap home. 2 Go to fight at Far, the other 2 go to fight beast. FML

Here’s the advice I’d given to my friends many moons ago:
Never soloq on weekends and holidays;
Never soloq when the Call of the Mists buff is on;
Never ever, double don’t!, soloq when the Call of The Mists buff is on during the weekend.
Thief / Mesmer / Elementalist / Warrior / Necromancer / Ranger / Engineer / Revenant
Crystal Desert – Eredon Terrace – Fort Aspenwood – Stormbluff Isle
I get this all the time, sometimes during the week as well, but yes, it’s far worse on weekends. People not rotating. People that just die instantly. People who don’t assist. People who runs into a group one by one to feed them kills. People who fight off point. People who can’t communicate even the simplest things, not even before the match starts to say if they are going home/close, mid, etc. People who will when you say you are going home/close, follow you and stand on it, then move when you rotate to mid instead. People who never call targets. Argh!—Basically people who have no place being anywhere near Ruby and above.. and I feel as if I get penalized for it, because I practically always end up on the team with headless chickens, while the other team always has at least a duo queue, if not a trio or more. It’s seriously annoying. But then again, maybe it’s just me being terrible. The League system is obviously a display of my skill, right?

League system is not display of your skill.
But if you do Diamond/Legendary totally solo then you probably have some skill and knowledge till you get there. especially if you do it with proff/build that is out of the meta.
I did it totally solo and i don’t want Legendary div with system abusing. btw Legendary div player with “low-med” “med” skill is a joke i see a lot now by system abusing. There should be only “med-high” “high” skilled players in Diamond and Legendary divisions.
The problem is the system don’t put me in team with same skilled players as i am for example. It sometimes do and a lot of times you just get some low skilled people as teammates in Diamond that cost me a match so the game system is punishing me. Last match 2 low skilled players went far at start and didnt do anything other than keep dying there. other 2 peoples are good teamplayers but we can’t win that 3v5 like match still we’ve made a lot points for the team.
