Is it just me or has something happened to the matchmaking?
My queues pop quicker than ever, but I’m being put in matches with people who seem to have never even played PvP before.
A necromancer camping bottom buff from the start of the game until the end on temple to two people capping close, even staff bunker guardians trying to solo Svanir.
I feel I’ve seen it all these past few days and it just feels unplayable.
Am I an isolated case, or is this happening to everyone? I would like to have games where there is at least reason to play, as it’s currently a waste of time to even queue.
I have an alternate account I also pvp on with a level 8 necro. I find the people I pvp with as the level 8 are often different faces than who I am teamed up with and against on my main account. However, every few rounds, the Deer level necro is pushed into a round with Dragons, Pheonixes, Sharks, etc. But not as often as you might think.
On a side note, I find it vaguely amusing when, on occasion, I get a snarky comment in chat for being a low-level or noob. I never mention that it’s just an alt account. I just play. I think that’s more common than people realize. But is it frustrating to be in a match with people who don’t know what they’re doing? Of course is it. All you can do is just play your game and hope that they’re smart enough to pick up on how to play in pvp.
SoloQ has become absolutely terrible lately. It is incredibly hard to carry compared to what it was like a few months ago.
If you want to be happier in life then I suggest you don’t play it.
That’s because the pool of experienced players have left the game or stopped queing, while the pool of new/casual players from PVE have grown. From Anet perspective that is good enough. PVE players are happy.

Truer words could not have been spoken. You have to change your whole mind set and just not care about winning. Just try have fun with by setting personal goals and just try to improve on your own game. Though I at times forgot Soloq is not serious and rage in team chat when some people are so stupid is boggles the mind.

Its so weird. Queues popping within seconds and ppl who are like miles apart in terms of MMR. I make screenshots every game , so lets see what my last one was like:
Yeah that’s true, we need a matchmaking tool regarding the last update.
With those pvp paths, spvp is messed up.
I’m not elitist, but it’s no fun loosing or winning when teams are not balanced.
It’s a shame Anet didn’t think about it before introducing paths in pvp.

Also not many experienced players use solo q to practise their ‘main’ builds/professions
This will be the case until a league system/competitive scene is in place.
To be honest I’d say solo q was at its best when they first implemented it; Teldo, phantaram, polyphi etc all in the same matches (before warrior meta hit).
Some people might be good but just trying to learn a new class. I tried quite a few games on my shout warrior/power ranger. It was a painful experience for my team mates and I think I lost about 23 out of 25 games on these builds. This was a while ago, but it would of ruined the games I was in totally because my win rate on necro is around 70%, so had a high rating which meant the difference between my expected performance and my actual performance was huge.
To be honest, I have played a bit recently whereas I haven’t played the game in forever. I have found team Q and solo Q to be unchanged. About 15-20 people who run the meta builds/comps in team Q and therefore just stomp everyone. And about 15-20 people in solo Q who are capable of playing at a very high level. About 5-10 of these people who dominate team Q are also really strong in solo Q, and vice versa.
