These two gametypes have never been so bad before.

Hotjoin = waiting for a spot in winner team
SoloQ = incredible imbalanced matchmaking and flaming if your team looses

It’s really no fun anymore for a player who is not aiming for a perfect team.

If you win or loose means way too much for people here. They don’t want to win for the win, they want to win for the reward and that’s the problem.

yea that’s a problem. imo the best you can do is switching over your map and team chat to guild chat or combat log so you won’t see them whining.

So SoloQ is exactly like it is in every single other game with solo matchmaking? GW2 chat is not even on the same level as MOBA chat and I find it hard to complain until it does reach those kind of toxic levels.

When PUGing TeamQ, Hot Join, or SoloQ, I have witnessed some of the worst sportsmanship. I have started blocking and reporting users that throw tantrums or insulting other players. On the flip side, I wish I could encourage some people for being respectful give a vote for being fun to play with. If this was tied to a reward system I feel this would go a long way helping the quality of chat.

My favorites are the people that send you a flame whisper then immediately block you lol

You know what. I really miss the old tournament system where there was only one type of tournament and no distinction between solo que and team que. I miss the old system because I did solo que in it and there was a bunch of other people doing the same, even though we’d face some premades every now and then but what I liked most about it is that when you had a winning team you would sometimes stick together and play as a team and if it goes well than you got friends and more you played more friends you get.

With this current solo que, you don’t ever see winning solo que teams say “hey lets join together and play as a team”

With this current solo que, I haven’t really made any friends at all, matter fact a lot of people seem more ignorant and kitteny. Always making excuses and stuff.

I have to say that change from one system to dividing it into team and solo que is big mistake if you ask me. If anything they could have made the system better and when your team is full solo que you face another full solo que 100% and when your in a premade you face another solo que guy with premade. But nope they chose this route and frankly I don’t like it at all. I use to have a good friendbase in pvp but I haven’t made any friends since this solo que team que split.

As for hotjoins, its just not the same anymore, its exactly how you put it, everyone spectating and waiting to join the winning team. It was a lot better back in September 2013, 8v8 was fun, its a hotjoin I play for fun. I think that decision that you only get points for winning or losing and no points for how well you did pretty much destroyed hotjoin, and whoever decided 5v5 was the way to go. Also there was more active players and felt like more active servers as well, to be honest I didn’t have to server hop that long to find a fair game at all back in September 2013, currently there doesn’t seem like that many servers anymore and most of those games are cheap games where everyone is just waiting to join the winning team, I don’t have fun anymore in hotjoin.
