I know that I can be unpopular but I really don’t like this “new” PvP. A large part of this feeling is due to the high damage that every class can do, but there are even some “old issues” that a PvP player has to learn to coexist with. This is why I’m here writing some ideas to make PvP better.
Obviously not everybody will totally agree with me, but probably will agree with just one or two of these ideas, so please, if you have positive critics please answer to this post, if you haven’t, just spend your time in another way.
Map picking system – First of all I want to speak about the map picking system. I’m not sure how it works, but I think that is a bit weird that a lot of times the map chosen is the one with less votes than the others. It seems that this system completely ignore the percentage of people chosing the same map. It happens even that with 7 or 8 votes on the same map and just 1 with another map, the system picks the map with that one vote.
Good/bad maps – This is a problem. A lot of people hate Courtyard and Skyhammer (I know, that 50% of people who will answer this post love these maps, but we have to be realistic) and I think that moving Courtyard at least on another no-Conquest queue, now, is a foolishness, but at least we can have 2 different Unraked Arena queues: one with all the maps available and one with the same maps on Ranked Arenas.
I know that people could just queue for Ranked arenas if they don’t want to play in Courtyard or Skyhammer, but I even know that most people join Ranked Arenas only with their guild. After all the chance that a pug team can fight against a premade one are high, in Ranked Arenas.
Join the queue – I don’t say I don’t want to wait – with these ideas wwe will probably wait few seconds more -, but doing something in the meanwhile can help player to not get bored of queueing arenas. Here are some ideas:
Let us play hotjoin again while waiting for a queue pop.
There are many suggestions about how to fix this, my favourite is giving the chance to go in queue from every place, adding more time to queue pop (like 30s+) and remove time from match beginning.
In alternative (or you can do at the same time it’s not exclusive) you can rework HOTM adding interesting stuff for pvp players. I mean, you reworked Lion’s arch 3 times, you can do something for HOTM, it appears really like an old map and totally useless. Considering new PVP stuff like Stronghold, keeping an old map like HOTM is a contraddiction.

And I think that even having some golems that not just stay there waiting to be beaten, but that can apply a lot of conditions or do a lot of damage could help in the waiting, at least we could use them to test our passive skills of curing conditions or our healing power.
