Spectator is a great feature if you know how to use it, but in its current state a lot of people are unaware that you can check someones build and gear with it. No where in the game it mentions how to do so, you actually have to click the small equipment icon on their unitframe to see it.

I think there should be an ingame hint that displays when the first time you enter in spectator mode. Also, it would be great that if you were to press H you would see the gear of the current spectator.

I think spectator mode should be more useful so that way people can actually learn off each other rather than playing not so good builds.

I do not think that the spectator mode is for any use, beside costum arena’s.
Make it like GW1, so you can observe high end matches. Way more useful than observing some Hotjoin zerg.

GW1 Observer Mode was a fantastic system, if possible GW2 should really try to get the same thing asap – it may save the game.

Really, it might save the game? I don’t think so.

This comment loves to be parrot among a subset of the forum community and time after time it has be shown to be false.

At this day and age, the people that really care about spectator mode enough to keep playing the game could easily watch twitch.

I’d like to be able to spectate tournaments.

+1, spectator mode sucks compared to gw1 obs mode. Gw1 obs mode is 24/7 automatic top play shown (though in replays). Gw2 spec mode is only useful a couple times a week when the “shoutcasters” are broadcasting some tournament. Maybe there is room for both in this game?

Regarding the above: Yes we do love to parrot on and on about Gw1 pvp because it was more successful than Gw2 spvp (at least thus far). Obs. mode might not save the game, but how is that comment proven false if obs. mode was never added?

Tbh i think the ability to see other people’s builds and gear etc is a stupid move.Do i even have to explain why ? No,im not even gonna bother,use your brain.

You don’t understand how impactful obs mode was, you would have the whole community get together watching tournies, chatting and getting to know each other. These games up to watch were learning tools, glue which kept the community together, ways to spot OP stuff early to get nerf’d. Guilds are dissolving all over the place, this would create new contacts for people to save them from the destiny of soloq.
