Yesterday, I read somewhere that you can stop spectators from seeing your trait placement. Is this true? If so how do you do it?

I’m pretty sure the post was by a mod, but I went back to find the post and can no longer find it. All I remember is something about a checkbox….

I believe you’re playing 30/30/0/0/10 in WvWvW and 0/10/30/15/15 in sPvP bro… why you worried about this when you’re broadcasting your build in the forums anyway?

Everyone runs the same builds anyways, and even if the didn’t it would be obvious within 2 minutes of play.

Exactly. This question was asked so the public can take advantage of the option. And, I would like to know in case any friends or guild mates ask.

Dont play in an observable arena. Done. People cant see your builds.

Meanwhile i don’t go custom arenas with my hybrid guardian (Nothing so top secret or over the top, but i’d rather keep it for me until i find something better) 20 20 0 0 30 shatter and it’s fine, if you want to go hotjoin and you don’t want ppl to see your build just go with something else, almost everything is good for hotzerg just pick one..

What if you found a great build through hours of playing & tweaking which might be considered a little too strong and it gets nerfed next patch cause people can just copy it and turn it into the FOTM

You could never guess my build, and i would never want to share it to anyone. I have been avoiding spvp because of this. I have spent countless hours on my builds, and have even made my own custom calculators to make the ultimate build. <—- thats enough work to charge for, and some kid can go watch you fight and just take your build… thats bs.

i agree that finding a build + gear that works for you is half the battle. though, then the other half is how you execute it. not anyone can just pick up any given build and play it the same way you do. that’s the beauty in it as well.. that you own a build, not just by coming up with it and have the numbers on a stat sheet and synergies listed out.. it’s how you put it into action, how you face up all the other builsd and professions AND players in the game, that allow you to shine and own up to your build.

is perhaps one way to see it. : )) for those of you who want to share, already do. and for those who don’t, there is an option, though some may feel they’re being forced to only play “private” arenas.. am suer more will open up in due time. or start your own when time comes!

technically, you don’t own the build. the build is part of the game already; you did not invent anything, you uncovered it.

I thought when creating a custom arena there is a tickable option to disable trait inspection etc….the problem isnt with anet…its with people that setup custom arenas….

Surely this isn’t that big of a deal? Either play tournaments where this no spectating, avoid those CAs that do or get over it.

All competitive games have this functionality.
