I don’t think it will be broken if you look at what the weaver can do.
Lolno, its a cute anti bunker thats only good in birst. It’ll be about as scary as current power shiro; not scary at all. I mean war with infinite resistance isn’t scary at all, just walk away from them. I can imagine this war getting deleted by any condi build in the games second rotation.

guard > mesmer > engineer > necro > ranger > ele > thief > war
Rev is a question mark for now, but I have zero concern about war. I don’t know if they can even fully boonstrip rev + ele/druid.

Given their Elite will strip 20 boons per target? While preventing reapplication? Yeah, it will be completely capable of shutting down Rev+Ele+Druid+Guardian.

Highly doubt it,
Warrior will get a guardian pull trait on a 12s cooldown if I saw that correctly, as well as an AoE reveal
An Invul counter on an 8s cd
and another taunt for good measure (1s taunt meditation)
It wont be a free kill, by any means

Free kill to a thief 1v1? While I agree that Spellbreaker will probably be meh, Thief isn’t typically a 1v1 class and it will not be able to easily beat anything. Thief isn’t a 1v1 class, unless you’re running specific builds, but you will have to leave the point and spend a lot of time killing anybody with that, which isn’t optimal for sPvP. WvW is a clownfiesta and I can’t discuss that.

Would this “spell-breaker” essentially ruin my Diviner Shout Guardian build?
I’ve found in this condi meta that my shout guard has been quite useful, my Ele has been having trouble with condi’s lately since my return but my guard is just breezing through it.

LOL no. Thieves are not an issue in 1v1 against a competent opponent , they shine at decapping and +1.
If we assume that what’s changing is all that’s changing, I’d agree with you. The trait changes to warrior suggest increased offensive power and significantly increased sustainability at the same time. It looks like it will be able to apply more healing points to itself automatically than a dedicated magi staff ele could apply to an entire team.
But we still don’t know the majority of what else will be changed, including the other tait-lines warrior has and it’s utilities.
Do you guys remember how Broken was Berserker supposed to be on the reveal back in the day? I have a feeling that Spellbreaker will suffer the same
Too early to tell what’s broken, the most broken sounding elite spec could just be undertuned and totally useless, the most lame sounding elite spec (Renegade) could just have super low aftercasts, a few overtuned abilities, and totally obliterate.

What I stated was reality, not hyperbole. Spellbreaker’s Elite skill removes a boon every half second for 10 seconds. That is 20 boons removed per target.
Now, this can’t actually strip 20 boons from a target because there are only 11 boons in the game and this same skill also prevents new boons from being applied, but it does have the potential.
