I know a lot of people say that skyhammer isn’t a good competitive map, but spirit watch is just as bad. It is not balanced. Right now certain classes are way too good at running orbs.

So, two options:
1. Remove this from solo queue
2. Remove all skill usage from the person who is carrying the orb.

I personally like #2. Even though the map itself isn’t a lot of fun, at least this will force teams to defend the orb carrier.

I actually rather take spirit watch 6 times in a row over 1 skyhammer…

I just don’t a kitten about the orb and just focus on keep capture points/decapping enemy capture point all the time and hope we get a couple of orbs at least.

Take your time to learn proper keybinding, it’s worth the struggle

Spirit watch is mechanically one of the best maps they have. They messed up on designing the map and the game has flaws. Spirit watch would be the best possible map if only:
- It was flatter, less stairs and goofy obstacles that make playing the map awkward, while retaining choke points for area denial play.
- The game didn’t have so many broken movement mechanics that heavily favored certain classes, then the orb wouldn’t need all of its goofy restrictions.
- The orb could be tossed.

But if you go with #2…

Then warriors are instantly the best orb carrier by miles. Passive health regen without skill use, best armor and health pool.

Although I think you could normalize health, armor, and nullify regen and movement speed passives for the orb carrier too. You’re right, it’s probably the best option, just would require complete normalization.

Honestly, I don’t see any problem with Spirit Watch.

Sure, there are some classes that are better at carrying the orb (perhaps the fact that I am playing such classes make me biased) but in ANY CTF game you will have such restrictions. I played WoW for a while and sure people complained that WSG was stupid when the other team was using a fully decked Prot warrior, but nobody ever asked for the map to be changed… It’s part of the design of the game – you have a few classes better at carrying the flag while others are better at capturing points, roaming, supporting or killing enemy carrier. What’s the big deal? It’s called team play…

Quick fix for solo q would be to cut down points granted from orb or make the orb to appear only like 4 times in 15 mins.

Now if one team has 2 heavy armor who know what to do the game is over. In theory the other team could coordinate and attack to orb carriers but
a) communication doesn’t work in solo q and
b) bringing down those HA carriers take so much time that the enemy will capture all points during that time.

Spirit Watch is fine, it might not be ready for real tournaments but its better then skyhammer and the infamous cannonwatersharkmap.

if you’re a warlock you don’t grab the flag, you leave that to a feral druid or warrior with speed boosts.
the exact same goes in GW2, if you’re a necro/guard then just don’t grab the orb, leave it for a warrior or dagger ele
and in both games if you had bad luck and don’t have any good flag carrier, then you just had bad luck.

this is alot less game breaking than trollhammer where certain classes can be invisible and one shot you from out of nowhere.

The mechanics of this map require far too much multitasking for the average player. 90% of the people who play this map do not know how to properly rotate on this map. And with the clusterkitten orb in the middle far removed from the conquest nodes, it is too easy to wipe a group in the mid as u have 1 guy capping the top. I have never been in a spirit watch that was a close match. They are always blow outs, based on which team has the most combined experience with the map.

nice suggestions like in gw1 when running relics youd lose your weapons, because your carrying something! stands to reason right? but the classes with evade and crap on skill bars yet again prove how broken it is to have evades on weapon skills this map isnt great but the underlying issue is evades on weapons sets!

That’s another good idea as well. What if the orb only spawned twice a game, but was worth 50 points for a cap?

God this game is bad enough with zero variety, why do you want to remove anything different. BTW conquest isn’t fun that is why people quit this game
