It is basically the same map, 3 control points where you have to stand in a circle. One map has trees, one has snow, one has water, and one is a village.

This is a very good game besides sPvP.

Idc how many new maps Anet makes, as long as its the same thing.(standing in a circle)
It will not be fun.

Ideas:

1.8v8 deathmatch

2.Capture the flag

3. Somthing like “Huttball” in swtor

4.Defend/attack

5.4v4v4v4 match

That just took me 10 sec. Anything besides the same boring map would be a breath of fresh air.

I left Swtor for the lack of Open world pvp, and if things dont get fixed I will leave Gw2 for lack of Spvp.

Oh yeah, somthing that is badly needed is a duel option/request!

ps. nerf thiefs………lol jk

I really enjoyed Huttball in swtor, it was a refreshing new game for a change, though I think a similar concept can’t be applied to the current state of the GW2 game, it would bring up alot of balancing issues.

I think the developers were so focused on creating a balanced and strategic PvP to go e-sports that they forgot to consider whether it was fun or not.

Im not really fun of new modes or map before they fix matchmaking and games will start to be more interesting..

but Huttball wow.. From whole SWTOR PvP i remember how bad it was but i remember 2 great ides for maps and scenarios.

1) Huttball – was just awesome ! i played Huttball with my guildteam and it was so great fun. Altought it had also its own issues with ballance, but the mode and idea behind was great !

2) Voidstar. The idea to defend and then attack 3 gates in a row. It was great ! again great idea on map. Some problems with respawn timers which was sometimes deciding victory but the idea was great.

I would like to play Huttball any time in GW2. Or even Keg Brawl !! It is also great mode – but instead of special skills i would like to have standard skills. The map and rulez should be same.

Yes I agree, something like Keg Brawl in Spvp, but you keep all of your regular skills besides one throw ability. With different platforms and a couple of traps.

Could be really fun but just learn from swotor and be carefull with movement skills for keg carrier. (portal keg will not be fun, shorbow teleporer will also not be fun.. or any kind of bling ability etc.. )

In fact i would do it like all 5 members do have regular skills – but the one who care about keg has the specific skill set.

That is a good idea

Honestly I would be happy with anything as long is it doesnt require standing in a circle.

I would like to see something like attack/defend.

You start out with your team in a castle defending and you have to stop the other team from getting to the “keep lord”. Whoever makes it to the keeplord the fastest or gets the farthest into the castle wins the match.

Well, yes. I like new modes as others do. But lets first focus on existing and add matchmaking. After we have matchmaking we can ask for new modes.

Keg Brawl ! could be interesting one maybe even for casual PvPers. And well, it could be an E-Sport material too !!

I used to think the same thing until I started playing tournaments more and realized how different the maps are. The secondary objects really change the play style of the maps that you just don’t realize playing outside of an organized group.

I would love to see more modes to play in too but conquest is really a lot better than most people give it credit because of hotjoins ruining all the strategy in it.

I think this is one of the problems causing of bleedout of players. While the system current might be designed to be balanced for tPvP (I’d argue that they aren’t) it simply doesn’t provide interactions that are interesting enough for the casual playerbase. The core combat system is wonderful. I’d say it’s the best of any mmo. The maps, however, don’t promote any interesting play. It’s just point defense over and over with little variation of strategy.

It’s still too little variation. I think ANet should design the map for casual play while keeping balanced ones for tPvP. That way they’d up the retention of casuals, players who serve as the audience for high level play.

I wish they would make Deathmatch maps, that way they can just focus on awesome looking terrain and let the players just murder each other.

Arenanet was right when they decided “having one primary game mode makes a better platform for e-sports” because the entire community, casual and hardcore, are playing the same game type and more players that can relate to what’s going on in a tournament means more interest and viewers. They just got it totally wrong when they picked conquest.

They needed something really awesome with a lot of depth, and conquest mode is not that. It could be something more complex like dota or GvG or some completely original game type, but even strait up 3v3 arena has more depth than conquest imo. Lots of games have had a conquest game type, but I don’t know of a single one that has used it for tournaments and been remotely successful as an e-sport.

I usually prefer objective-based games to arenas, but GW2 just works better in small-scale fights. I think 3v3 arenas would probably work really well.

Arenas would be a fun addition, but I don’t think they would ever be competitive since it’s hard to create something engaging out of them.
