Spvp progression needs complete re-work
Agree completely.
I agree, theres been too many games where ive come in the top 3, but only received a tiny amount of glory :/ it just seems like another grind fest where you just need to enter and enter to get the glory to level up, shame
My guess is PvP rank grind was put into place to buy ArenaNet some time to implement the core e-sports features. PvP ranks should become a non-factor once the ranking ladders are up.
Incorrect meme usage is incorrect. Shame on you.

And what will you say when you reach your max rank in two months, “Too much glory, nothing to do now” ?

Glory boosters should boost rank gains too (even if at a different %). Chests for hitting the next level need to be more significant. The rewards are usually subpar at best; maybe give rare equipment you can not otherwise get at your current level (example at rank 30-39 I get rank 40-50ish items each time I level).
I still think they made the ranks too steep starting in the 20s, but I doubt that will change now. I am rank 36 now, and I feel I should be at least in the 50s; where you start to get gear that actually looks decent. If ranks came a little faster it would only help the population grow more. Rank only says how long you have played anyway, if there are a bunch of level 80s next summer would that really bother anybody? They’re going to add more ranks anyway – you can see them above the level 60,70,80 vendors.
I doubt I’ll even be rank 55 by next summer, and I know I play more than the average person. Do you really think I just want to stare at the same gear for 2-3 months at a time when I get to higher ranks? No thanks.

why such an extreme change, who said antything about 2 months rofl. As it is now it would take a casual 2-3 years of spvp only to get max rank yet the pinnacle of pve, a legendary, only takes a few months of grinding.
And it doesn’t even have to be a reduction in time, but make the progression FEEL meaningful. Theres tons of ways to do this like making rank gain the same for each level and increasing total levels, making certain gear available at each rank rather than everything at 10 levels, etc. Other games have figured it out (including gw1 lol) but apparently ANet forgot how to do it right.

Why people are trying always to max everything they have? Why not just play just because it is worth playing? In GW there was also ranking system. BTW it was much harder: you could get points ONLY after 5 victories in a row(!!!). Just imagine how far from Max average player should feel with such system playing with, let’s say, random teammates.
Here in GW2 you should at least play it to gain points without strict requirement to win consequent games. And even with this simple requirement there are lots of complaints here, that’s sad. It’s just impossible to make everybody happy.

Because they are raised in a capitalist money driven society and love the feeling they get when they accumulate useless kitten they dont need so they can show it off to others.
