Staff #5 Surge of The Mist
To Everyone and Devs:
Just curious, can anyone explain to why staff#5 on revenant (Surge of The Mist) have a 1s evade on it ? It has 1s of channeling and 1s of evade, that 1s of evade guarantees you let the skill off and it can’t be “INTERRUPT”. Very healthy for the game.
Because without it, Rev wouldnt be quite so OP.

2 blocks that heal, evade on staff, evade and damage on sword, glint heal, huge boon uptime, heal on staff, shadowstep as long you have energy.

Yeah it’s L2P because if you play a revenant you should already know how to counter them.

TBH I now pick Hammer over Staff.
Good range damage, Projectile denial, 100% life leech, on demand evade, area denial (KD). Just feel like when I use Hammer I’m less countered by certain spec, such as ranger.
@jayson. How do you counter that other than block? And don’t tell me dodge, if the rev is next you, there’s no way you can dodge it.

To answer OP question.. cause revenant goes into the mists. Another dimension. That skill has 20cd so its not gamebreaking and quite easy to mess up as you cant control direction like with whirl for example. You can hit someone 9 times if he was noob enough to stand in front of rev, or 1 hit max if rev casted it from side.

Let’s not forget how Unrelenting Assault travels through portals with the mesmer you are attacking.. so much for getting away.
